Never had a problem with my handles being too short and I’m 6ft 2. Maybe that extra one inch makes all the difference.

Yeah, the corners are a bit banged up on all of mine now, especially the wheel end. I use this one the most and as you can see after five years, there’s still not much damage though. My attaches don’t show any sign of wear at all. GT make tough stuff.

Definitely do not let the handle discourage from buying one. These bags are heirloom pieces and so beautiful that one does not need to put them in a closet when not using - they are decorative.
Just for point of reference- Look at how short the handle is compared to the Tom Ford bag.

Matt, my handle is different from yours. Emma has your type of handle and it is definitely shorter. They changed them about four or five years ago.

    Just watched the new Goldfinger outfit video, David, and to say that I am stoked is an understatement. -{

This has been my grail quest forever. I have purchased multiple barleycorn and herringbone tweed hacking jackets, trying to put together this look but never achieved the result I wanted. When David Mason announced it was coming out with this sport coat and the twill trousers I placed my order within minutes. I had to go the ready-to-wear route so am waiting on mine to arrive stateside, but your vlog makes me even more excited.

A couple of questions. What's your assessment of the color match of the trousers to those Connery wore? The Goldfinger pants seem darker, more of a true fawn color, but I don't know if that was a function of camera filters and the film they used. Did David Mason have access to the originals, do you know?

Second, Matt Spaiser has written that Connery wore brown suede derby shoes for this scene. Matt being Matt, I have to assume he was right. But I'll probably wear mine much of the time with my Church's too.

Here's my article on the suede derby shoes from Goldfinger: https://www.bondsuits.com/suede-derby-shoes/

The trousers are indeed a different colour. Elliot told me that they couldn't get a darker cavalry twill that was the right colour, but if there is demand they may weave their own in the correct fawn.

some of the comments in the youtube video are a bit harsh. They criticize the fit, but I think the outfit is meant to be up-dated. I personally don't care for the colors, and is a shame, specially on the trousers, the cut and style are great. Hopefully they can do the same in the light brown too. Is not so much that they don't look SA in that color, but that I think the color combination is precisely what makes this so memorable and outstanding.

    regards.

I’m definetely in for the correct color trousers Matt. These are too disappointing to purchase, as David’s shot indicates.

I found a pair of cavalry trill a few years ago, which I used for these shots.

    dear David

thanks for the video, I am glad you got a good experience from Mexico city. As you correctly stated, there are some bad things.

I think Mx city authorities have managed to contain violence out from the tourist areas of the city, to a high degree. unfortunately I saw someone was killed in a place where such things should not happen. they (some low life sicarios) killed by mistake a young woman from the United States in front of her husband. sad.

The place with the barges should be Xochimilco, they are called chalupas. The other, the zoo, should be Chapultepec zoo.

I lived there for many years, but being almost completely agoraphobic, did not really enjoy the city. You brought back memories. I loved Zocalo, and enjoyed being there, but not being crowd friendly, got tired soon, but it was worth it. In the many years I lived there, I probably went one time to Xochimilco, I was never fond of it. I really hate excessive drinking.

Anyways, thanks for the positive review and the very informative tour.

    regards

We take a detailed look at Sophie Harley's original Algerian Love Knot necklace which took a starring role in James Bond movies Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. This stunning piece was specially commissioned as a beautiful love-token for leading lady Eva Green to wear as the alluring Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, with two beautiful pairs of earrings. It then weaved its way intricately through the sub plot of the sequel movie, Quantum of Solace. But, what many don't know is that Sophie designed inspired pieces BEYOND what we saw in the movies....

It is a great show and I recommend it when they schedule it again. I might even go back.
Bond: "But who would want to kill me, sir?"
M: "Jealous husbands, outraged chefs, humiliated tailors . . . the list is endless."
