Nutrition is the foundation to health and wellness, and in this vlog we explore the difference in diet between James Bond the character and Daniel Craig, the actor. We site information and data from Simon Waterson, his trainer, as well as our own experience in evolving our mind and body.
Awesome vlog David!
Have you ever tried throwing in the keto diet periodically?
I found that going keto for 30-40 days every once in a while can help shed some excess fat that gets stored in your system over time. Def not something I recommend long term, but the times I’ve done it I’ve seen my body fat percentage decline after hitting a plateau.

I did the Keto last year for about a month and can attest it works having lost 20 lbs. As you said, not something you should do long term, but it does help shed excess fat quickly.
I've also for the most part been able to keep that excess weight off ever since. -{

Re: keto - My rule of thumb is if God made it, eat it. If it came off a conveyor belt, avoid it. Other than that, I don’t worry about it.
Intermittent fasting is definitely a thing. When I do it, I don’t eat from 6pm to 10am the next morning. It’s 16 hours but I sleep through half of it.
One huge IF tip - try and do your workout at the end of your fasting window. At that point your body will have nothing in it to fuel your workout so it burns what you have stored up (fat). I have never gotten results so quickly.
Good timing as into my second week of my fitness and diet regime - feeling very good and firmer already (muscle memory etc). My Fitness Pal and Map My Walk is keeping things logged and a bit of fun for diet and hiking in the hills (brilliant with the bar code scanner for tracking macros / calories)
Only took 2 days to get past my sugar cravings. Hard when my young kids are about with sweeties however on the second day of the diet I was about to crack and put a piece of chocolate in my mouth however I ended up spitting the whole thing out which was amusing. Im doing a 500 calorie deficit - high protein intake, all junk ruled out - going quite easy for a change!! My legs were so knackered today from the gym (leg day) I had to crawl up the stairs when I got home!!
I did Keto 4 years ago and lost 6 stone on it. Best thing I ever did. I maintain about 80% of my time on low carb now, and the other 20% on the odd treat or drink. I struggled with weight all my life, but I have managed to keep the weight off for 4 years now so it is a lifestyle change rather than “diet”.
I struggle with exercise-never really enjoyed it. I have recently been doing 15-20 mins of cardio a day and walking everywhere instead of car or public transport. However as I age (approaching the big 40 next year) I am aware that I should be doing some strength work. I look forward to David’s future videos for some inspiration on that front!

Mantis cracking vlog and your fitness journey is impressive, you look in amazing shape. hope that doesn't sound weird.
I too are doing a shredding type programme a bit like yourself I've devised my own that works for me.
My goal is too loose that dad bod at 47 , cut up a bit and put a bit of size on.
Mostly matching my weight in pounds with protein, cutting out the alcohol as best as poss , reduced my carbs and more fruit and veg.
Basically my average day consists of 6 meals - Breakfast - 2 eggs and oats/honey , snack - apple and protein shake , lunch - chicken , spinach , quinoa with rice , snack - protein shake , nuts or rice cakes , dinner - fish , sweet potato and veg , snack - yoghurt .
I'm training using the Spectre work out simon devised for craig.
It's pretty savage but I like to work to a programme especially training on your own.
For me its all about balance.
Look forward to your fitness vlog and any feedback is always welcome.
Lots of good advice in this vlog. Most important point was the “small bites.” I think most people who fail to improve their nutrition do so because take on more than they can handle at the beginning. It has to be sustainable. Whole 30, keto, etc. are too extreme if you’re looking for a better diet that can comport with a normal lifestyle. Radical changes overnight are too difficult to maintain, and might even make you feel worse in the short term.

Its was a 5 day routine consisting of power circuits , chest and back , shoulders and arms and legs.
Lots of pullups and push ups as you can imagine.
Its available from mens health.com
I first saw this workout making rounds on the internet before QoS was released back in ‘08. It was dubbed the “Casino Royale” workout then. It looks like a nice full body circuit, but don’t be fooled into thinking this is THE Daniel Craig workout. I doubt such a thing exists.

It doesn't. Even if it did here's why it wouldn't work in the real world.
When you exercise, not all of the muscles respond the same way to the exercises you do. Let's use the basic bench press as an example. Where is the bar in relation to your collarbone - more towards your chin or more towards your stomach? What angle are your arms at? How long are your arms in relation to your body? That's different for everyone. Do you have any weaknesses, injuries, or impingement? Is your form 100% accurate on every single rep or does it drift?
After a few weeks, you may find that some muscles are not responding as well as others. Because a bench press is a compound movement, your progress will be limited by the weakest of all the muscles that you're using. Not just overall strength, but the ratio of work they do compared to other muscles. So if, for instance, your front delts are not progressing as much as your pecs or triceps then those two muscles won't progress as much as they should because they're being held back. You have to constantly adjust the exercise that you're doing, and then adjust to other exercises as you go - based on how your body in particular is doing..
So unless you have a rock solid plan that incorporates how to adjust exercises based on your specific body - your proportions, injuries, limits to range of motions - as well as having someone watch you from the outside (we're terrible at judging if our form is good) you wouldn't be able to follow just one workout. Even if it was coincidentally designed as if it was for you and not another person.
What David says is true - people get so worked up (har har) about exercise and nutrition. I think it's because it's tied in to wish fulfillment - wouldn't it be great to look like, say, Daniel Craig? I see this with other aspects of living up to the Bond image. Just look at how some people discuss the way Craig's Bond dresses - instead of saying "That's not to my tastes" they get angry and make very emotional declarations about what is right or wrong (which magically aligns with their own personal style!).
I wish that exercise and nutrition was different than other subjects but sadly there's as much bad info on the web on that subject as there is on any other. Like David, I had a big transformation in my health and appearance so I used to love to try to help people achieve the same. Sadly, many people read something that they wish was true (Use this one perfect workout! Do this one diet that will make you shredded in one month! Use this one supplement that packs on muscle!) and no amount of logic, science, or facts can sway them from it.

A new vlog is up! A theory was born on a road trip...Is the first Bond movie of each Bond actor their best? Being James Bond and The Bond Experience explore this theory one actor at a time. Our second in the series is OHMSS with George Lazenby, and as you can imagine this is an easy one....but we really get into the nuts and bolts of the film nonetheless.
Hope you continue this series when all "first" movies are done!
Hurrah! Great news. I always enjoy listening to other people's opinions on my favourite film franchise, no matter how much I disagree sometimes ) It might even offer some new perspective on a movie that I might not like as much as the reviewer does.
One question though.... Will you review OHMSS in your series of Last Bond Movies too? :007)
I enjoyed Sunspel vlog. Like every Bond fan I’ve got the CR t shirts and a couple of polos including iconic navy. I’ve also bought 3 of short sleeve Henleys which I really love.

I had to laugh watching the Sunspel video. I've already got seven Riviera's and yet I was watching it thinking I really need one of those Riviera's ) -{
How does that Sunspel Dri Release Polo compare to the OB sports equivalent?
Thanks. That’s interesting as the Sunspel looked a good fit on you. I went past the Sunspel Soho store in London this morning but didn’t have time to pop in and try one on.

Connery should be interesting. DAF or NSNA or both? DAF is his last Eon Bond film, but NSNA was his last time playing Bond.
