The Stupidest Villain Plans

And of course, Bond is one of the worst when it comes to villains with good plans. However, the stupidest plan has to be Silva's. He lures Bond to his island, knowing he will get captured, knowing he can escape, knowing when M is in court and then knowing that the trains will be perfectly on time. I'm not suggesting this plan is impossible, but why? By escaping, he's alerting Mi6 that M is in danger. He knows when M is in court; why not just travel to London, shoot her at court, and then leave? Or just blow up her office when she's in it? Anyway, what are your opinions on these villains' plans?

Drax's plan was quite stupid. He only had a small group of specimens. What about if any of the specimens are poorly? Also with mankind extinct on Earth, Drax would have loads of cleaning up to do.

Elliot Carver's plan wasn't necessarily stupid, but I always wondered if it was worth it just to get exclusive broadcasting rights in China?

Silva isn't stupid. He's just insane.

It would make sense for an emotionally disturbed terrorist to want to use an entire army to settle a personal vendetta. I wouldn't call it intelligent. But it's believeable. It would not make sense for a media mogul to risk his life and his entire business to just to get broadcasting rights in 1 country.

Technically, yes, Sanchez does get the money from his buyers, but he is killed before the drugs can get to them.

I don't think he wants to blow it up. GoldenEye just sends a pulse that wipes out computers, as shown earlier. So he'd steal the money and then wipe out all records of money in London.

it's fantasy of course but its smart. when i first watched goldfinger, the plot twist shocked me.

Stupidest villain plan: To release a bacillus that will make all women beautiful and kill all men over 4'6". Perhaps not any madder than some of the others, but the way he goes about it certainly is!

Goldfinger: Fleming's craziest villain plot. Everybody will know it's Goldfinger, he'll be the World's most wanted in seconds. He let's Bond tag along for the journey and thus discover and wreck his plans. There are no doubt other instances when a villain could and should just have killed Bond but none more so than here, Goldfinger is the most careless Man in the entire series. He deserved to fail.

Emilio Largo, Fiona Volpe: Maybe convoluted, the whole replacement pilot and that, but it's a simple and effective steal Nuclear bombs and hold the World to ransom. A little OTT perhaps alot but it's almost water tight as far as plans go. Surprisingly good plan.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld: A hollowed out volcano, A space capsule that eats other space capsules, who exactly is the Chinese Man who will pay Blofeld when WW3 breaks out? What's in it for him? More more to the point what's in it for Blofeld bar a load of cash? He's clearly got enough to fund his own space programme so why does he want some more? That's some crazy craving for greed. Maybe the daftest of the lot. Holding the world to ransom with a space laser is also a bit much don't you think.

Scaramanga: I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell TMWTGG is actually all about. Something topical for the time, the 3 day week, Scaramanga steals a device that can create loads of solar energy for some reason? Scaramanga threatens to kill 007. Bond wastes ages going to find a bullet to analyse when he's just been sent one. Scaramanga wants the cheap energy to himself on his billionaires island the greedy so and so, he's going to sell it to Hai Fat but instead shoots him, not one of Hai Fat's people seem to care about this. TMWTGG's Girlfriend fancies James Bond, Scaramanga himself clearly has an unhealthy obsession with him. James Bond is a celebrity by now. What does Scaramanga use those huge cooling vats for anyway? Boom bang explosion. Bond is attacked by a midget. Lulu wails a terrible song, the end. Christopher Lee is exceptional, it's a pity his motivations are so weak. Nuts.

Stromberg: A submersible sea base, an oil tanker that eats other oil tankers? Are you Blofeld in disguise? Yes he was infact. It's a shame actually, I wish Moore had a SPECTRE assignment, shooting Blofeld in cold blood would've carried alot more poignancy. Still, building a new and beautiful world under the sea sounds to me like he is in league with the Crab out of the Little Mermaid. He certainly likes his Fishes does this chap. Bonkers.

Drax: Little Hitler. Michael Lonsdale is first rate for what he's got to do and the Nazi bit is very effective and little used in the world of Bond, but the whole space station, globes of nerve Gas, laser beams... if it had been a huge bunker underground it would have worked better and been a darn sight more feesable, particularly in 1979. As it is it's also Bonkers.

Zorin: See Goldfinger...

Carver: Media rights in China? Start WW3 with a stealth boat? Nothing more to say here.

Colonel Moon/Gustav Graves: Another space laser to start WW3. Why? Stupid. Maybe the worst. Definately the worst film.

Silva: He's clearly insane so anything is OK by him. He just wants to humiliate M, MI6 and Britain and then murder M and himself. A complete a nutter.
