Aspects of older films you'd like to see return

Basically, common features of older films that are no longer in the new films you'd like to see return.

I think the gag of Ms office being in unusual places should be bought back, as it made the M scenes different to films that had this scene in his office. I thought those scenes were good and might work well in some films.

Sorry but time progresses, people progress - so do the actors. Nothing stays the same. Bond films must move forward. The alternative is formula

I like the new cast, bond firing at the end

    1. Gunbarrel at the start, followed by a proper PTS then the theme
    2. A colder, more business-like relationship between M and Bond
    3. Bond flirting with Moneypenny - but not to the excess of what happened in Die Another Day. That was too far.
    4. More frequent use of the Bond theme
    5. Big, bold, brass notes back into the movie theme, and have Dame Shirley Bassey sing it.

    6. The much loved animal scare (I see SP has that one covered :D ).
    7. A laser here & there (it's all about the lasers).
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

    James Bond will return in...

But I guess they never know these days what the next title will be.

I liked that too. Or rather Q's lab on location. Now with technology and Ben Wishaw being a computer Q rather than a gadget Q, him on location doesn't make as much sense.

I'd like to see Bond having fun at something, like the card games in so many films, the golf in Goldfinger or the picnic and hang gliding in Live and Let Die. Bond never has fun anymore!

I really can't agree with broadshoulder. The films can move forward and still keep their identity of what makes Bond films unique. "bond firing at the end" I'm assuming he means the gun barrel (unless it's something about Bond getting fired, which hasn't happened yet). But what does moving it to the end have to do with the films moving progressing? I don't see how the filming are more modern for putting it at the end.

    I missed one ...

Put Bond in a Bentley, not an Aston Martin! Although Bond never drove a Bentley on screen, a Bentley was featured in From Russia With Love and referenced in Goldfinger.

I'd even settle for the average current movie price! It's at least $5 more where I live than what it is in most parts of America.

So when SP comes out, and you take your lady to see it, and you have a little popcorn, you'll end up dropping a Grant, eh... ?:)

I would love the series to go all the way back to Dr. No, when Eon understood that you didn't need gunshots and explosions every 5 minutes to make a great movie. So a more clean quaint minimalist atmosphere with accentuated direction. Gags to a minimum, but still there. And a serious ground story without it being some Columbine-esque guns-ablaze power fantasy.

That's a fancy way to say "fat chance". Lol.

But alas, it's true. Movies need something that they can put in a trailer. But perhaps, even that can work. Bond 25 should just dump its money into one amazing vast 10-minute set piece for a trailer, and then keep the other 110 minutes grounded.

    Hoodwink the audience into enjoying a great movie not anchored in violence & explosions! I like it! -{

wow. now you made me feel like an asshole lmao

but from the look of things, Spectre has an appreciation for the slower moments and a subdued setting. with the gags its purported to have as well, it should be a very well rounded movie.

First things first...MORE FREQUENT USE OF THE BOND THEME PLEASE!!
Maybe it's because I grew up during the Brosnan era, but I really miss the way David Arnold did things, using the Bond theme whenever Bond did something particularly James Bond-esque. Perhaps he over used it a little but nevertheless

Now that I got that out of the way, I don't mind saving the gun barrel for the end (especially with the way SF opened. Brilliant!), but I think it would be great to bring it back to the opening.

Now that we have a male M again, I'd really like to see the old M/Bond dynamic back on the screen.

1.) Bond being more multi-dimensional and having more fun again.
    2) John Barry-esque scores.
3.) Multi-dimensional, challenging villains with big plots and elaborate, visually interesting lairs.
4.) More reliance on good dialogue than on long action sequences.
    5. Sweeping vistas, colorful secondary characters, clever jokes, a sense of adventure.
