I personally thought GoldenEye was very good, I enjoyed it.
But then I thought Brosnan's tenure went slowly downhill, and each film became worse than the one which preceded it. Before finally descending into the ridiculous with Die Another Day.
I also thought Brosnan was "passable" but rather forgettable as Bond, he is the one I always forget about.

Out of all PBs attempts at Bond I had only seen the first twenty minutes or so of GE. I just couldn't watch it IMO (& it is my opinion) he was grossly miscast in the role. I just could not bear to watch him pouting & clenching his jaw any longer. After reading some of the posts on AJB I thought I may as well give Broz a go as I could well be missing something.
A few days ago, after getting a refurbished copy from the pound store, I watched DaD (all the way through). Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! In my eyes he is just not & can never be James Bond.
What I don't understand is how anyone can claim to be a Bond fan (over the age of 16) and not have seen all the films? I mean, how hard is it to see a Bond film when they're readily available on DVD, Blu-Ray, VHS or Betamax if you're uber-old school, refurb from Poundland or on TV when they're re-run all the time?
20 mins of Goldeneye and DAD - watch all of them before pronouncing judgement, no? ?:)
To be fair to stag, I don't have to eat a whole pot noodle, to know I don't like them.

As I have read many posts saying that particular Bond film was bad or wasn't that

Points well made gentlemen... I guess that as a fan of even a few films as a child/teenager, I couldn't wait to see the ones I hadn't yet seen. They're so accessible, you almost have to go out of your way to not see them ( a bit like my wife and daughters claim to... ) )
Stag, I agree that you are absolutely entitled to your opinion and I respect that. I'm just a little surprised that as a Bond fan you'd not want to watch any and all things Bond. I will watch and defend CR -67, CR-fifty-something, and NSNA ... Even though I didn't overly enjoy them... But nothing would have stopped me wanting to watch them because I love Bond.
Like others here, Before video ( yes I'm that old) I'd use an old cassette audio
Tape, to record them off the Telly. ) I also pre-ordered the Gardner novels from

I don't like Pierce Brosnan - the worst Bond ever. I've seen enough watching what I watched & have no intention of watching any more. Furthermore I can pronounce judgement with regard to this as it is my own opinion & can do so as & when I like.
How many here haven't read all the books including the continuation novels? Are those who haven't any less Bond fans?

Going back to the 'how can I claim to be a Bond fan' when I haven't seen all the films? I don't like that statement. As already said under that pretext those who haven't read all the books, listened to the radio plays or been to all the conventions can't 'claim' to be Bond fans either can they?
I agree with this, you can be a Bond fan and only have seen one film as far as I am concerned. You may not be the most knowledgeable fan, but still a fan.

well, i wouldn't say one would have to watch all of the films in order to be a fan. but at least watch a few of them and give them a fair shot

I agree with this, you can be a Bond fan and only have seen one film as far as I am concerned. You may not be the most knowledgeable fan, but still a fan.
