How did he survive that?

Does anyone else seem to think it looks totaly ridiculous when we see Georgi Koskov from TLD collide with that plane and survive with a few cuts and scrapes after we clearly see the jeep he is inside completely destroyed in a big fireball.
I know it is Bond and your not suppose to take it seriously but really? I always wonder why they didn't just have that as his actual death. Would have been a lot better I think.

    I should have just been left out. Like, have him turn off the runway and crashing into a ditch or something. His ending is very good though; he wasn't a big enough villain to deserve an over the top death, but it gives him some uniqueness. I also like Whitakers death with the bust falling on him.

    Thats far more evocative. i just imagine Georgi tied up, with just his face showing, surrounded by packages in the hold flying to Moscow to receive his fate.

    Cruise the Youtube videos of miraculous crash survivals & it won't seem so unrealistic. :))
