I think sometimes its the absurdity of the Bond films which help make them so brilliantly rewatchable. If you take a realistic film like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy for all its merits I am not desperate to see it again. But do I want to see films containing a statue beheaded by a steel rimmed hat, a steel toothed man lifted into the air by a magnet, or a secret agent arriving on an island populated only by beautiful women via crocodile disguise again.... Of course I do!
