AVTAK Action Theme

Hello all,

I am a huge fan of the Bond soundtracks. I know AVTAK is not a favorite film among most, however I love the soundtrack. I think the 'hook' for me is the action theme with the wailing guitar in it... certainly unique and adds to the action scenes in the film. I wish that AVTAK would've received the special edition treatment as there is another part to 'Snow Job' that is unreleased as well as the battle at Stacey's house. Does anyone know of any plans to further release this score? It would be worth it (IMO) for those two cues as well as the orchestral version of AVTAK that plays when they are flying towards the Golden Gate Bridge.

This is also my first post here, so want to say thank you and I look forward to contributing on the board!

Hi, and welcome to AJB. I'd like to ask you to take a look at this thread here, for new members: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/45180/introduction-how-to-use-the-forum/

In brief answer to your question, sadly there are no current plans to re-issue the AVTAK soundtrack (or any other Bond OST) in an expanded form. I don't know if you know already, but a few pieces of unreleased Bond music have been re-recorded by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra including "Fanfare", the orchestrated version of the AVTAK main theme heard during the escape from City Hall. I'd be happy to go into more detail if you like.

This thread may be of interest, and there are a couple of links at the end which offer more information: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/33272/expanded-sound-track-cds/

Thanks for the welcome and intro!

I am familiar with the re-recordings as I have that CD set. I am a completest when it comes to soundtracks, especially Bond soundtracks.. I have all of the 2003 special edition releases. I am still hopeful that with the release (and success) of expanded score to the Star Trek movies, Elfman Batman films, etc. that Bond would be next up. I had also previously read interviews with Kendall that more or less tells us not to hold our breath. I just wish that someone would see the value of a proper release for ALL the soundtracks!
