Dom perignon reference in movies

I just found out something when watching TMWTGG, I either just found out a reference I have never heared anyone speak of, or i'm a very slow fan and found something fans have known for years (thinking it's probably the ladder ) )
In DN, Dr. No says to Bond: "it's a Dom Perignon '55" (the year of the third Bond book) and Bond says he prefers the 53' himself. (the year of the first Bond book.)
And in TMWTGG Scaramanga says to Bond "A Dom Perignon '64" (the year of the third Bond movie) and Bond says he prefers the '62 himself. (The year of the first Bond movie)
Did anyone ever notice that one before, or am I just being a slow Bond fan here?

My question for you is: What is the significance of "the year of the third Bond book/first Bond book" etc ?

You got me there :P But since the line is so similar in TMWTGG it got me thinking: "why those years?" - certainly those wine years Bond named wouldn't have been particulary better (I would have to research that, but I don't think they were better) Then it struck me how those are the wine years of the third and first Bond movies and books respectively. I don't know the exact reasoning behind it, but i'm pretty sure this must have been a conscious choice on the filmmakers part.

No, I said Roger's bond preferring the '62 to the '64 in TMWTGG. Which are the years of the first film and third film, while Connery prefered the year of the first book to the third book.

Dom Pérignon is always a vintage champagne, meaning that it is not made in weak years, and all grapes used to make the wine were harvested in the same year.
From 1921 to 2004, Dom Pérignon champagne has been produced in 40 years. Three vintage years in a row are a rare phenomenon (which has only occurred three times: in 1969, 1970 and 1971; in 1998, 1999 and 2000; in 2002, 2003, 2004).
The 40 Dom Pérignon up to 2004 are: 1921, 1926, 1928, 1929, 1934, 1943, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004.
I just assumed he wanted to enjoy a '69 with Goodhead...
Perhaps as ASP9mm points out it takes about 10 years to mellow in to a
great vintage ?
That's what I always assumed from Bond's lines about champagne.
They worked in syntax, the rhythm of the dialogue, how many syllables it had
etc. To help the " Flow" of the script. An example would be in the lyrics of songs
As there are many that use the number Seventeen ( 3 Syllables )and not many
with fourteen ( 2) etc. I have no logic to back this up, only a mad theory. )
Never had it myself, but the it has a high price. The store I work for had three bottles at the end of 1999. We brought them in for the turn of the century. I didn't think anybody would buy them at the price of $100 a bottle. But we sold all three.
I've never had Dom Perignon, but I've had Bollinger and it was fantastic. If I could spend the kind of money on things Bond does, I would pay a few hundred dollars for a bottle of Dom Perignon or Bollinger. It tastes nothing like ordinary sparkling wine.
In all seriousness, I would split a $100 bottle with 4 friends, for $20 each.

What about the DP '52 in Stomberg's escape pod?
By 1977 that would no longer be drinkable?
Maybe TSWLM is set in the 60's.
