Wouldn't mind Conti doing another up-to-date 2015 , I really dig his Rocky and Masters of Universe soundtracks.
Those are excellent soundtracks, especially Masters of Universe. FYEO also had excellent music, but that doesn't make it right for Bond. Though the Skyfall soundtrack is incredibly boring and does nothing for the film, it takes nothing away from the film like the FYEO soundtrack does. Conti's score is like putting the Beach Boys in a Bond film. The music is good, but it's shouldn't be in Bond.

Barry's ghost haunts them all, to varying degrees, in my opinion. As Connery defined the benchmark for the actor's portrayal, so did Barry set the bar for all scores to follow.

Well David Arnold was certainly heavily influenced by him.

And not only with Bond ,when I first saw this movie I was sure that Barry was the composer.
To me, composers like George Martin, Bill Conti, and David Arnold have captured that Bondian essence Barry created, meaning their films don't suffer without Barry doing the composing duties. However, Dr No, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Licence to Kill suffer greatly because Monty Norman, Marvin Hamlisch (with the exception of 'Bond 77'), and Michael Kamen weren't able to capture that same essence of Bond that Barry defined.
