Kids Central Inc., a nonprofit agency contracted by the state to handle child-protection services and oversees adoptions, foster care and abuse-prevention services in Lake, Sumter, Marion and two other counties, will present Casino Royale on May 29 at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club, 8300 N.W. 31st Lane Road, Ocala.
Texas Hold 'Em tournament, blackjack, roulette, craps and slot-style games will be offered beginning at 7 p.m. Participants can use their winnings to bid on prizes.
There also will be several "undercover" costume contests including best villain, best James Bond and best James Bond girl.
Tickets are $75 a person and additional $50 for the tournament.
Kids Central also will have its inaugural HALO Awards from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 30 at the Savannah Center, 1545 Buena Vista Blvd., The Villages.
The event will recognize exceptional foster parents in Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties.
Lucas Boyce, the director of business development and legislative affairs for the Orlando Magic, will be the keynote speaker. The Edge Effect and NexGen Band will provide entertainment.
Tickets are $50 a person or $325 for a table of eight. Proceeds will benefit Kids Central Inc.
