Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between the 04204 (G/S) and the 04203 (G/S)?

The new 04204 box is identical except for the number minus the label.

Here's are the contents of a 04204 trade box (finally the correct number ;% ) showing the five silver cars all still with the old collector card from the 04203, and the gold one with the newer type card. So I assume the gold cars were produced later and added when the older cards were already used up with some silver cars.
I have only seen this one example from a German seller - the Corgi website still lists the 04204 as available, and the 04205 is not listed there. I am not sure if the gold one is also renumbered to 04205G as the seller only has a 04204G for sale.

A missed opportunity to have produced a special 50th anniversary collectible
Agreed, very disappointing. What next? a 50th Anniversary Thunderball version with no roof panel or a SPECTRE version perhaps? Marcel V.C. will be turning in his grave for their lack of creative vision
