I have started to read the Ian Fleming, James Bond novels, I'm now on "Dr.No" and reading in publication order. Is there a cross reference guide for the books not really interested in the movies
Thanks

    Hi there, and welcome to AJB- I'd like to suggest you take a look at our guide for new members here: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/45180/introduction-how-to-use-the-forum/

    Now, can you clarify what you're after with a cross reference guide? What sort of information would you like?

    I too have started to re-read the Fleming novels. This is the first time I've read them in order and I'm really enjoying the experience. By coincidence, I'm also up to Dr No, always one of my favourites, and so far only Diamonds are Forever felt a bit under par (and Moonraker lost me in the final Drax scene: it seemed a bit distant and impersonal, to me).

    Yes, reading them in the published order, really is the best way. You can see Fleming grow
    as a writer and infact see how Bond's character matures and changes over the span of the
    books. -{

    Reading them in order is the preferred Way. Flemings Writing got more and more technical over the Course of each Novel -{

    I've too have read Fleming's Bond novels in order and would also recommend this as the best approach thematically. -{
    "The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).

    I recommend that you give the Continuation Novels a go when your finished with the Fleming's :)
