Rate the Bond Decades by sheer Re-watchability

For Me:
60's- 10 of 10
70's- 6 of 10
80's- 8 of 10
90's- 9 of 10
20's- 6 of 10

Basically, I want my Bonds to be enjoyable, escapist entertainment without either pretentious pseudo-seriousness or silly/laughable nonsense. That's why I rate the 60's & 90's most highly.

Thoughts?
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I agree with you on two decades, but I can understand your reasoning for what you want your Bond to be. I still find that the silly/laughable nonsense has a place for me. The "pretentious pseudo-seriousness" of the past three Bond films hasn't done much for me either. It doesn't feel genuine.

I was tempted to rate that decade as highly purely because of Dalton... :))

If FYEO, OP and TLD were the only Bond films in the 80s it would be a 10 for me. I think they are three of the best films in the series so that's why I gave the decade a 9. I hardly find AVTAK re-watchable. I don't care a whole lot for LTK, but I think it's better than anything that has come since.

I think those are the best of the 1980s as well.

I'll rate em out of 5:

    60's - 10/10

DN, FRWL and GF are back to back classic. TB is worth skimming through. YOLT is really good. And OHMSS is a great foil to contrast the Connery era.

    70's - 7/10

1 great movie. 2 good movies. 2 bad ones. Average decade, I guess. But what these movies do good, they do really good.

    80's - 9/10

Underrated! Both Dalton and Moore. Such a wide diversity between the serious and the funny. AVTAK is the weakest link overall but is better than you-know-what.

    90's - 5/10

Only 3 movies due to the embargo. There are things I like about each of them but none of them are jawdroppingly amazing. TWINE is probably the best one though.

    00's - 6/10

Only 3 movies. CR props this decade up, but the two that sandwich it are kinda questionable. I'd still rewatch QoS and DaD though, even if they weren't as good though.

For me it would be -

    60's - 9/10

    80's -8/10
    - Both of these Decades share the same Score
    70'- 8/10

    90's -6/10

    00's - 5/10

    80's - 9/10
    90's - 9/10
    00's - 5/10

I tend to re watch films from FYEO to TND the most. 60's I don't tend to rewatch much at all except for GF and YOLT, whilst the 70's I watch sometimes, probably MR or LALD the most though. The only film I rewatch in the 00's is DAD.

I too, cannot wrap my head around that rating, especially for someone who loves the 60s Bond films. FYEO and OP are the closest to that IMHO.

    Although...

Even I would question such a low rating for FYEO. OP and AVTAK, certainly are no classics in my book but FYEO is the closest to an early Connery-type Bond out of all of them...

To me, watching the Moore Bonds is like watching Star Trek: The Animated Series; it's not hardcore, but a good Saturday morning version. :D ;)

I hardly think it's fair to compare FYEO and OP to TAS. Moonraker, yes, but sniperUK ranked that decade considerably higher.

I enjoy the Moore films when I actually sit down and watch them, the hardest part is actually pressing play on the remote as I don't feel inclined to watch them (same with Brosnan)

I watch them all, they match my many different moods ..... I'm complicated. ;) :D

60s - 8, I adore DN, FRWL, GF and OHMSS, but imo TB and YOLT are just so boring. I think you don't like me anymore because of that, sorry :D Although the other four movies are amazing and I love them.

70s - 7, LALD is a fine and fun movie, but I really like TMWTGG and ofcourse TSWLM. I don't mind Bond going to space. Unfortunately I really don't like DAF that much, for me it's just meh, even though they filmed in Amsterdam.

80s - 7, the last Moore movies are fine, especially FYEO, I think it's a great movie! And I very much like the Dalton ones, the darker Bond movies are cool, just like CR.

90s - 8, I'm from 1998, but I grew up with Brosnan, my parents had a DAD VHS which I loved as a young 5 year old boy, and I still do. The other ones are very likeable as well with a big love for GoldenEye.

00s - 7, like I said, I like DAD, I know it's a bit over the top but I don't mind as my first Bondmovie. I freaking love CR, it's my favourite in the series, but QoS is a bit too fast, even for me. I don't dislike it, but it's not great either.

10s - 7, Skyfall was a good movie, but after seeing it a bit too much, I think it went too deep into Bonds personal live. SPECTRE's footage is lovely, I like the two trailers, so I'll give it a seven.
