Bond dealing with Vespers boyfriend scene.

This is an excellent scene, but M outside babysitting Bond ruins it.
M being out and about as much as she was always has irked me slightly, that particular scene would lose nothing if one of the agents waiting outside hands bond a phone and the same conversation with m happens over the phone with m sat in her office, then bond hangs up, pops his collar, heads off into the snow and drops the love knot.

    I think the scene would lose its punch without M present...she is there to see for herself IF Bond has changed/learned, about not killing everyone and IF he's able to put Vesper behind him...that's my take on it anyway...love QoS -{

Also, if M's on the phone then it's very similar to the ending of CR.

IMO, OHMSS, TLD, LTK, TND, and QOS are the most underrated of the series.

    Pros:
    .Daniel Craig rocks.
.Greene is a total slimeball and i love it.
    .The direction, cinematography, and score.
    .Awesome action.
.Never had a problem with the editing. Except maybe the boat chase.
.The film moves like a bullet. The fact that the other Craig films are 140+ minutes makes it all the more unique.
    .Realistic plot.
    .Locations.
    .The final scene.
.I kinda dig the ending gunbarrel. Especially how Bond walks away.

    Cons:
.I would've kept Villiers instead of Tanner. Rory Kinnear is kinda annoying.
.The cgi during the freefall sequence.
    .The gunbarrel is too fast.

PS i would've kept a scene where Bond kills White and confronts Haines. I dont like the way White went out in SP.
    1. Connery 2. Moore 3. Dalton 4. Brosnan 5. Craig 6. Lazenby

Ok, without getting into detail here a list of pros and cons.

    Pros:
    -Daniel Craig in his prime.
    -Olga Kurylenko.
-Mathis is in it again with a tragic ending.
-Jeffrey Wright is way cool as Felix in this film. Way cooler than in CR!
-The final scene in snowy Russia is the best scene in the entire film.
    -David Arnold's fantastic score.
-Elvis the legendary henchman that no one appreciates but me :P
-Coolest scene with Craig ever when he leaves Greene in the desert

    Cons:
-First and foremost, the epileptic scene destroying editing.
-Secondly, clearly, the worst theme song ever in a Bond film. DAD is a marvelous gem compared to it.
-All the Bond trademarks are missing
    -The GB is an insult

while the Pros seems to be more numerous than the Cons, I must add that some Cons weigh heavily like the non-Bondian feel of the film.

I like this film nonetheless but it will never escape the bottom five in my ranking.

I kept the points that I agreed on/wanted to expand on.
On the pros, I'd also add the wonderful Tom Ford suits and accessories that Bond wears in the film.
The cinematography and the locations are quite stunning. I don't mind the location cards, they add to the locations in the film but they should've been a bit more subtle. The film is truly beautiful to look at.
As a con, I'd add Felix's boss. Why? Personal preference. Felix must be sub-zero to not punch his boss to death a-la Goldfinger novel.
I have been daydreaming on how I would've directed the movie for so long. This and The Man With The Golden Gun are the ones I would've wanted to have re-directed. You also have the editing on top of that which utterly ruins the overall experience.
Not really a con, but I don't see the appeal to Arnold's score. None of the pieces felt unique (with the possible exception of A Night at The Opera) and I much prefer the Casino Royale score and song. That's not to say that I don't prefer this score over Skyfall or Spectre.
I might not be an oldie around here but I think you know me better than that.
What does GB stand for, could anyone enlighten me?
The film might not be my favourite in its era but I due to the writer's strike, I can cut it some slack.
    a reasonable rate of return

I actually hate abbreviations....but use them anyway :P

    GB stands for Gun-barrel (sequence).

The film definitely is colourful and looks good, Tom Ford is my favourite designer anyway and I love his clothes Craig is wearing.
I never minded the story or the script of QOS. Imho, it's EONs (ha ha...) better than the script of SF.

I agree on it being an insult. I think that all Bond directors after Martin should have a Q&A session with him to find out if they can do certain things or not like doing basic things that Bond movies had been doing for 40 years.
You know, like putting the gunbarrel in the start of the movie X-( .
    They all need a good...
    giphy.gif
...if they can't figure out what they should be doing.
EON should seriously consider having AJB make the next Bond movie.
Excellent locations, beautifully shot, perfect wardrobe. If the film is stylish enough, nobody is going to notice the script being sub-par.
Casino Royale/Skyfall is proof of that. That said I love the former rather than the latter.

When it comes to Another Way To Die, I think the music and verses are decent. However, the chorus and the OHAOHAOOOOWAAAY as chrisisall put it is mediocre. I don't hate any Bond song though. Apart from maybe the Sam Smith's falsetto.

So you don't like it and it's too short :)) Reminds me of that Woody Allen joke where two women complain about a Restaurant and one says to the other " the food is terrible" the other agrees " I know, and the portions are so small" For the record I don't like it much either, but it has its loyal fanbase here if not so much in the Muggle world.

Really? would've thought that out of all his films this is the one where he looks his most Bond-like to the general public.

    LOL
    But "slick trigger finger"?
Apart from that, I enjoy the lyrics.
"Well, a door left open, a woman walking by, a drop in the water, a look in the eye, a phone on the table, a man on your side
Or someone that you think that you can trust...is just...Another way to die"
That part especially. It doesn't however feel like it was written for Quantum. That's something that the script and this song have in common. I suppose that's something.
