Bates has the Weekender, which could have been one of the OHMSS hats, as the trilby comes in dark Navy, which looks to be the College of Arms and Gunbarrel hats. Lock Hatters isn't that far either, nor Swaine--Brigg, if you want an attache.
Lovely place to shop, pics next time?
Bates has very nice hats, but it's impossible compare what any hatter sells now to what they sold in 1969. I have vintage Lock hats that don't perfectly resemble anything they sell now.
Slightly off-topic, but when buying a hat, do certain styles, i.e. trilby vs fedora, compliment specific face shapes in the same way as collars on shirts? Or is it strictly a matter of personal taste?
Different styles do indeed complement different face shapes. Whilst the collar shape should work inversely from the shade of the head, the hat needs to follow the shape of the head. Wider brims look better on wider heads and narrower brims look better on narrower heads. The trilby's more tapered crown also works better with a narrower jaw whilst the fedora's wider crown looks better with a wider jaw.

I also spotted at least 3 shoulderless Bond Submariners in Burlington Arcade (No prices!) and a little further afield off St Martins Lane a vintage bookshop with some Bond First Editions in the window.
It was an interesting shopping day!
Rumour has it that the jewellers in BA sell their items with a 200% mark up
One Day I will shop at Turnbull and Asser, however I buy TM Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt and Thomas Pink shirts from Jermyn St. Just love wandering around when in the capital.
When I am in London, Jermyn Street area is one of my favorite areas to walk around...has it's own personality and vibe....my wallet hates it, but I love it.... these pictures are from a LONG time ago (slightly more puffy me...)
Definitely my favorite shopping street. This street oozes Fleming, all classy stores with lots of history. I was there last month and went into T&A. The man working there (lovely guy) must have known I was a Bond fan, because he immediately took me to the corner of the store where Connery was measured. Right next to it, you see a collage with shirts and ties that were worn in Bond movies by Connery, Craig and Brosnan.
Also loved Floris. I obviously bought '89. Also the Floris employee mentioned that Floris perfume will make an entry in the next Bond movie! For what it's worth, but that would be awesome.
Great stores, could shop there forever...if I had the funds.

I was told this by a prop guy who works on the films that they had got in a load of Floris bottles a few weeks back. So this info tallies up perfectly.

Out of curiosity, why did buy the no 89 specifically?

It is Ian Fleming (and therefore Bond's(?)) choice of perfume.
And no, they did not say which of the Floris perfume's they are planning to use. Naturally I hope for the 89, but from a marketing perspective, they are more likely to 'push' one of the newer perfumes. either way, I see it as a great development to use such a traditional (Bond) brand now in the movies. If only they let Anthony Sinclair (Mason and sons) do the wardrobe, that would be fantastic.
From Bond Lifestyle: Floris No.89 fragrance was a personal favourite of Ian Fleming himself. Floris is mentioned by Ian Fleming in the novels Moonraker ("Floris provides the soaps and lotions in the lavatories and bedrooms"), Diamonds Are Forever ("He would have to send a cable to May to get things fixed. Let’s see - flowers, bath essence from Floris, air the sheets...") and Dr. No ("There was everything in the bathroom - Floris Lime bath essence for men and Guerlain bathcubes for women.").
No.89 takes its name from the number of the Floris shop on Jermyn Street. Orange and bergamot blended with lavender and neroli give No.89 its classical cologne aspect. Warmed with a touch of spicy nutmeg, the floral heart is underscored by the dominant woody accord of sandalwood, cedarwood and vetiver in this quintessentially English gentleman's fragrance.
Floris makes a complete range of No.89 fragranced toiletries for men, including Aftershave, Aftershave Balm, Moisturising Bath and Shower Gel, Luxury Soap and Shaving Soap and Bowl.
Floris is overrated. Situated at 74 Jermyn Street is Taylor of Old Bond Street, the very best place for men's grooming products. I buy a years supply of products on my annual trip to London.
I will now go and take shelter from the barrage heading my way )
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

I am still wondering who was the first to attribute no89 to the book Bond. Jamesbondlifestyle used to mention that but have changed it a while back.

Ditto. I love Floris' shop though. I've used JF for years.

And the Floris shaving bowl made an appearance in Skyfall. I believe, at the time, only No89 shaving soap was available in the bowl.
It was a Taylors bowl and brush NOT Floris. Everyone at the time assumed it was Floris, including Floris, but it was Taylors. To be fair, the bowl is made by the same manufacturers and they're identical, so either is accurate.

Not questioning your expertise in these areas, just very curious: where did the information about Taylor come from? And do you know the model of the brush used?

The brush is part of their 'Jermyn St' range, RRP was around £95 back in 2013. Production polished the white Taylors branding off the brush so it was completely black.
Taylors do a cheaper one with a black plastic body. It usually comes with the soap in a gift pack. That isn't the brush they used.

Yes!! Rediculous prices.
And get your shoes polished by a professional The guys have a stand in the arcade thoroughfare every day but Sundays, just walk up and wait :007)
Often wanted to do that but I'm normally wearing the wrong footwear since trekking around London like a tourist plodding up the miles
Dear old Blighty.
Definitely going to pay it a visit this winter :007)
