A lot of fans would hate this, but I wouldn't mind it at all. Do you think we will ever get another jokey bond like Moore? Moore can't be the only one, surely...

I consider those examples as excesses and idiosyncrasies unique to Moore, but I was talking more about generalities and the overall flavor. Had the Tarzan yell and Beach Boys music been edited out, you’d still have the lighter and funny rendition of Bond by Roger Moore, which I'd hate to think is not entirely out of the question down the line just looking at what the producers were willing to do in the past to give the series the booster shot in the arm when they deemed creative changes in direction were needed.
He was a greatest hits Bond; but he was given some truly crap lines from the Moore stable ("I always wanted Christmas in Turkey..") or some such line..

Took over from David Niven. I can't think of another actor who fits the
Bill these days apart from Colin Firth.
It will feel full Circle
I was going to add sophisticated and suave, but I'm not sure if that fits TP's better half.
Affection, caring, understanding .... Sorry got to go, she's just come in!!!!!!!

Not really, we got the excellent Craig..
But - as ever! - TP's response is closest to the truth. Roger was very much part of the old "studio" system. He was a film star in the mould of his heroes (and friends), like Niven, Stewart Grainger, Gregory Peck et al. He was part of the Hollywood system through chance and then choice and he was interested in being an entertainer and a star, not an intense, Oscar-chasing actor.
And as his career overlapped with the end of that studio system there's nothing similar to allow anyone else to come along in that ilk.
So let's just enjoy what we got
