Taking a break in your interest of Bond films

As I have now started TMWTGG, I have realised this is the first Gond film I've watched since about March/April. In that time, I've just generally lost interest in the films. I've done this before; for a couple of months after Skyfall, when I first got into Bond films, I watched them all, over and over again. Then, I just stopped watching them. I think I simply watch the films that much I honestly get bored of watching the same stuff over and over again. Of course, when Spectre comes out, it will give me something new to watch in the series, but, for now, I have just lost interest. Has this happened to anyone else?

I feel like there are a few Bond films I can always watch over and over again, like FYEO. My interest in watching the films comes and goes, but my interest in my Bond clothing blog has stayed. I think that's because my blog is about clothes first and Bond second.

Yes. And that's totally fine. With 23 films, it can be overwhelming and sometimes it helps to take a break for a month or so and do other things.

I find that 23 films makes things easier because there's so much to keep your interest. When I was a kid I was really into Star Wars and I'd watch the three movies over and over again all the time for a few years.

    It does happen.

Its like me at the moment. I can talk about Bond forever. I can big up Bond forever - i can broadcast about OHMSS to some dweeb on the internet

Currently rewatching Dr Who's from the sixties. Watching William Hartnell to Patrick Troughton. Have watched from 'The Empty Child' to 'Spearhead from Space'. Currently watching 'The Rescue'.

But it is easy to take a break..

I'm currently having a break from the films. Watching comedies like One Foot In The Grave and Gimme Gimme Gimme.

I lost my interest for 2 years or so, that must have been a year before Skyfall. I watched them a very few times. I did still like Bond, but sometimes it's good to have a break. You can come back and go whenever you want, it's not when you let it go Bond won't return. So... LET IT GOOOOOOO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moSFlvxnbgk

Yeah. I agree that with such a diversity of movies, it's hard to exhaust any of them. But sometimes, if I've watched 5 Bond films in a row, I might want to take a month off.

With me, I'll normally take a Couple of Weeks Break from Bond Films. Then watch something else in between.

I tend to dip in and out of the films, as I have them on all my tablets and phone :D
So when working on something I can have one playing on the desk. Just last night
Waiting to collect my daughter, I watched about 20 minutes of LALD on my phone
    Waiting in the car. :))

In my head are myriad various Sci Fi Galaxies / territories. Bit like marbles in a jar! The two Bond eras are one of those marbles.
If anyone is looking for me and I am not in the pub, I'll be on Tracy Island.Or possibly the USS Excelsior...
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

    Same here for me.

While I will always consider myself to be a diehard Bond fan, sometimes you just happen to take a break from it all. Then after a while you completely get sucked back into it (atleast in my expierence). As SPECTRE is slowly reaching it's release date, there's no way a Bond fan won't be excited about the franchise again!

I usually go several months, sometimes exceeding half a year without watching a Bond film. However, I'm always drawn to enjoy my Bond-related interests on a daily basis, like visiting AJB for example. I also do the usual Bond-related surfing and currently, I am going at an extremely leisurely pace in reading John Cork's James Bond, The Legacy, a book I've had since it came out but which I've only gone through previously, multiple times, to look at the pictures.

I already missed watching many popular TV series like Game of Thrones, Dexter, True Blood, The Sopranos and Breaking Bad because I'm already enmeshed in my regular broadcast TV shows and weekly consumption of recently released DVDs, so much so that I don't like starting a Bond movie unless I'm sure I can watch it in its entirety, uninterrupted. More often than not when I do manage to pop-in a Bond disc, I do find myself having to skip over scenes just to get to the good parts which I hate doing, so I'll end up not watching at all "the next time."

I am a binge Bond film watcher myself. I can go a few months without watching any and then I find myself watching them constantly. I am also guilty of watching them when they appear on television, I tell myself I will watch five or ten minutes, only to end up watching the whole film.

I think it is a good thing to have a break in your interest in Bond movies once in a while. I have one every day between 2 and 3 o'clock.

I've been working 70 hours a week this summer so i haven't had much time to focus on Bond. However, I did watch Octopussy and Moonraker recently. :)

Hello, my name is chrisisall, and I'm a Bondaholic.
I was Bond-free for a couple of months, then I fell off the Aston Martin.
I binged for two days, and I'll likely do so again tonight... :#
