Matthew Vaughn - future director?

I know there has been recent discussion on this site about another Moore style Bond. Thinking about that, the possibility of a lighter Bond and watching Kingsman and X Men First Class, has anyone thought about Matthew Vaughn directing a Bond film? I'm sure he could do a great film that could have the chance of being an epic like TSWLM or YOLT.

but for the more serious movies like Harry Brown and Layer Cake. So
I'd love to see him take the helm of a Bond. -{
Mendes has not. He didn't even want to make a second film.
Ah, I always thought that he wanted to do more then one originally.
Did he not ?
I knew he'd been approached for a second right after Skyfall...hence the wait for him to finish other commitments...I wouldn't rule him out of doing a third either...
What source do you have for Mendes not wanting to do a second...?
He obviously changed his mind, but see this article for what he said after Skyfall:

I think he enjoyed making Skyfall with Craig. He could appear for a third..
It could be the Mendes Trilogy
I think he'd be a very good fit for Bond but I'm not sure he'd want to be involved in the series as it is at the moment. I heard an interview with him where he said he'd had a falling out with Barbara Broccoli over comments he'd made about the recent films. If they could iron out their creative differences I'm sure they'd make a good team. I wonder what CASINO ROYALE would have been like under him? I believe he was in line to direct it at an early development stage.
As for Mendes doing a third film, I could see the producers wanting him to stay on board, especially if it was Craig's last film. This is assuming SPECTRE is a big success (which I imagine it will be) & there's a desire for a continuing story arc.
It's Part of Bonds ever lasting Legacy {[]
Who other than Mendes would you consider "excellent directors"? Michael Apted and Marc Forster are the only ones I can think of (though Forster left his skills behind for Bond).
And so did Michael apted who let his wife interfere with the script
And created a right mess

Thanks for the link...but he does appear to be talking himself back into directing another one halfway through that interview )
Roger Moore 1927-2017
Christopher Nolan is one that springs to mind. He is a self-confessed Bond fan, has OHMSS in his top ten movies and borrows from the series frequently in his own films. Steven Soderbergh and Steven Spielberg are also big Bond fans.
I remember Mendes saying he had put everything into Skyfall and possibly couldnt offer anything more, however this was around the film release where no doubt he was 007ed out
1) Vaughn was thought for the longest time to be the son of actor Robert Vaughn, the Man from UNCLE himself. So, he may have the 1960s spy craze culturally ingrained.
2) Kingman did well enough at the box office to be a worldwide hit, so money-wise, there's no shame attached to it.
3) I've seen some scenes from Kingsman, including the infamous church massacre. I don't believe I'll watch the whole film. It may well do the 60s films some justice, but I found the scene gratuitous to the point of being a turnoff. If he did this with Bond, I'd be equally as discouraged.
That's actually a great scene and fits the film perfectly....it can be a problem when you watch scenes without context...
True...but it's just about opinions...and they differ all the time -{
that for myself, The believable violence of say "Harry Brown" I find far more
disturbing than any of the over the top, cartoonish violence of Kingsman.
Although as always different opinions are always interesting to read. -{
