Is this a mistake in LALD?

When the taxi driver says "Mr Big wants to see you", it implies that a meeting with Mr Big is planned. But then all of a sudden, the plan is to throw them out of a plane. Is this a mistake?

I always thought it meant " Mr Big's people" i.e. his henchmen
were waiting to speak to Bond ?

I don't think it's a mistake. You're just taking it too literally. The men represent Mr. Big. The taxi driver left out the word "dead" that the end. It makes perfect sense to me.
