If you are doing it to add to/start a collection for the sake of collecting the. Go the special editions. If you are planning to wear them, I would say the standard ones would be easier to wear

As some of you may of read ,im interested in running in my TAG Monaco for an Omega , now the deeper ive dug ,the more
oh gawd, the search has become , originally ,my goal was to land a PO ,rubber strap ,but now a whole world of Bond Omegas ,has opened up a pandoras box , ,Do you keep well away from any of the logo 007 ,gun barrel face models ,are they really a worthwhile collectors piece ?? . Or do I snap the dealers hand off ,at any Bond logo Omega ,oh the pain the pain 8-)

For regular use I would always go SA and steel bracelet if you want rubber etc they are cheaper to buy later than a steel bracelet at a later date and last longer.

Special editions are Omegas way of cashing in on true Bond collectors after all Bond never actually wears them on his wrist (and nor would he they would stand out too much). They generally hold price a little higher that SA versions and are a great talking point but it's down to personal preference in reality.

    Good luck

    Cheers :007)

Just buy the one you like best, you will be the one wearing it. SA, special edition, a speedmaster it is of no importance as long as you love looking at it.

(EDIT: I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but I had a conversation with a fellow Bond fan yesterday who was flaming me for having a non-SA Seamaster. I tried explaining him that this was the one I liked best but for some reason this didn't sit well with him.)

since I am a man, no I won't be wearing it. therefore, I'd like screen accuracy.

sorry, but what does that have to do with your sex?
If you like screen accuracy - that's ok but like Peppermill sad - it's all personal preferences.

    Hey Holen - long time.
    Where have you been?

As for the big black thing - I really don't consider it as a toolwatch.

    Hi guys,

I'm hoping to pick up the new planet ocean model soon. Last sticking point. I've got my AT for dressier occasions. So, I intend on wearing the planet ocean daily, casually etc on a rubber strap. Is it worth buying the watch on steel then rubber strap additionally? Or just get the watch on rubber?

My advice would be to definitely purchase the PO with the stainless steel strap and pick up the rubber strap afterwards. It'll cost you significantly more to purchase the stainless strap separately. The rubber straps are much easier to come by and cheap by comparison.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

+1 on buying the watch with a S/S strap to start with.

Although as someone who wore a rubber strapped watch for many years and wore through many rubber straps in those years, your probably better off getting one of the new NATO straps as your spare strap instead.

I've not bought from them but I was in their Bluewater shop this afternoon. Nice, knowledgable people and they were displaying an award for Watch Retailer of the Year - for the second consecutive year.

Thanks for the info guys! Was apprehensive with second hand dealers etc. a friend can get me 20% off a new planet ocean, but sometimes watch finder have some cheaper. Don't want to save the extra money but be stuck with a graymarket watch or something.

That's good to know ,as I went there last week to get a valuation on my TAG MONACO ,I have decided to trade it in
for a Casino Royale model PO with the rubber strap , oh no I hear you cry , 8-) but as I have my beloved pepsi GMT ,with the steel bracelet , ijust need another waterproof watch to use ,its just that the GMT is becoming more valuable as the years go by , I don't want to ruin it ,scratch it ect ,so after watching CR the other night ,its the rubber PO for me ,
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I got my SF AT from Watchfinder, I found them to be absolutely great people. Knowledgable, no pressure to buy, and also open to negotiation on price. ;)

Anyone know where I can buy official omega watch straps? In particular, planet ocean rubber with deployment buckle and also the PO2500 rubber strap?
