I too had placed a pre-order with Amazon.co.uk for the Taschen booky wook, only to be equally miffed when they cancelled the damn thing.
This resulted in a series of email complaints being sent to various Amazon 'customer service' employees, each one getting more and more irrate and batcrap crazy until;
The initial reply was the usual 'sorry for any inconvenience' bullcrap, but it goes to show that if you play slightly dumb and crazy (comes easily for me) then you might just get a result.
And if they're doing it for me, seems only fair you lot reap the benefits too.
Now showing at £34 on .co.uk, cancelled .com For the sake of £4.76 I couldn't be arsed to argue with them. Although congrats to Geoff for sticking to his guns.
And.... Amazon has done it again. Having ordered it once, they cancelled it. It then came back in, a few ££ more, so I thought I'd try again. And now this:

It's still not a light weight volume & my only critisism is the cover does not have cloth boards therefore it marks too easily fresh out of its factory shrink wrapping however a handsome volume & a steal at £30 or even £45 for 624 pages -{
Effing amazon UK also cancelled my order... will look for it at that other dealer you guys keep mentioning.
They also say they can't find me a 2CD version of the "The Best of Bond" compilation. Funny, I saw one the other day at a local dealer and passed, having already ordered from them. I'll hop to see if they still have it and will cancel from Bezos'.

I'm this close to ordering directly from Taschen's website (only problem, it's not available yet - says December, so probably released this week and available to order soon thereafter).

Guys,
Whoever you order from? the Spectre Edition of the James Bond Archives is well worth adding to your Bondy library.
As you have seen by the dimensions it is not a great deal smaller than the first "break yer nads" coffee table edition.
Because the paper stock is slightly inferior (not as glossy) and the boards are not cloth covered & therefore lighter this is a much more manageable volume. I believe W.H.Smith have it on their website for £33.74 which is a bargain. Quite frankly it is a bargain at the full £44.99 price tag. This Donkey just hopes they don't go & release another Gold Art Edition for the updated Spectre volume. Scrap that of course I want a Gold leather Spectre Edition

Don't be silly oh Microbe of Jiff...a 007 "Archives" book with props in....the very suggestion is absurd!
I mean, how does it compare in size to the last one?
Depends who the last one was :v
13.5" x 10" x 2" compared to 16" x 12" x 2.25" and the size for the 007 Archives book is... )
