Come on, you know there is only one colour ... :007)
I don't think that everything has to be screen-accurate - but I truly believe that the Giugiaro Esprits look their best in white. I also prefer the white turbo over the copper one. Somehow white works on the angular design, although I wouldn't buy many other cars in white.
And while I would also understand if you stay with the original colour - but, honestly, why gunmetal grey? Aren't there enough grey or silver cars already on the streets? Orange would be great, too.
Is your car spray-painted or one of the early S1's that were moulded in the colour?
White ? I had a white BMW 3 (M sport) I was forever cleaning it ,they show up every spot ,mark going , its the same as my current black 3 series ,its always dirty , id go for that gun metal ,that looked very good or even the copper .

the silver hornet hides its various scratches, chips and dings rather well.
And to think, it's not that many years ago that I almost pulled the trigger on a no issues white S1, with the chocolate and tan suede interior, for £6,999 - one of my many mistakes in life! 8-)
Silver or variations there of is a colour for Aston Martins
Red is a Ferrari colour
Racing Green for Jags
Metallic Gold wraps with a Dubai number plate for a gopping Lambos
So White is a great classic colour for a Lotus :007)
I went to a Classic & Restoration Car Show earlier in the year and had a chat with the owner of this beauty. It was White but with Black Leather seats and it was lovely - if you're not a fan of Tartan but want something Bond-Like then you could do something like that.
Soon work will start on my Lotus, still deciding on colour but this is what I hope to achieve in time.
You're a lucky man! The S1 is a beauty.
Be sure to replace any old fuel lines, etc. with new braided stainless ones. Old leaky hoses are a disaster waiting to happen!

It would be nice to see progress updates and look forward to seeing the finished result -{
The transformation, might put the idea out of some of our heads )
The big question which I need some advice and other thoughts on, what colour. Do I keep it original and paint it the same colour.
So the colour choices are
RED, WHITE, BLACK or GUNMETAL GREY
Like this but the grey was never a lotus colour but could be really nice gunmetal with oxblood leather.
Like this
Or even ORANGE
