The Rock
The Raid
Wild Geese

It's coming together in bits and pieces. Got a great little Sony
Bluray player, to go with the Freeview HD recorder and the now TV
box. So I'm fully covered for all TV and on demand services as well
as the Bluray/DVD collection.
So now just waiting on the perfect TV stand, for the new Telly when it
Arrives, after much measuring, I'm going with a 50" version, and a great
Seat, to relax in.
Then stick up a few Bond posters, Books etc. Than I'll have my little osais
of calm, my fortress of solitude, my bat cave. )
Then I'll be looking through all the film suggestions and adding them as I
Go along.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Picked up a bargin with the Chromecast, to get all my
Streaming channels on one device, that's the Chromecast
And Sony " smart" Bluray player for around £100 ! Now I
Think that was a bargin.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
John Wick
Zombieland
Juggernaut (aka Terror On The Britannic)
John Capenter's The Thing (or any of JC's early films)
The Usual Suspects
The Road Warrior (aka Mad Max 2)
Blue Ruin
True Detective Season 1(effectively a 6 hour film)
The Guest
Big Trouble In Little China

Well my big tv arrived yesterday, had a quick look at SF and it looked amazing on it.
Still a project at the moment, as I want to paint the walls around the tv a darker colour.
A bonus was on reading the instructions, I can record programmes to an external drive.

Wait a moment...you received a brand new "big" TV set (65" is big my Dear ) and you watched Skyfall on it?
Skyfall, as in Sky? and Fall? Really? Out of 24 Bond movies you chose that ? )
I would have gone with GoldenEye, Casino Royale or The Living Daylights
)
I also watched YOLT and Moonraker along with The dark night ......
..... I'm going to be rewatching a lot of movies. {[]
Yes, a new TV set is better than sex, at least for a week or so ) and 50" may be a bit much for the one thing but for the other it's fabulous, mine is 65", the TV set I mean of course ) and it's even curved, both of them )
...I think I better stop now...
I was close to upgrading my TV for a bigger one but thought I would hold off to see if this 4K and new blu ray format takes off in the New Year (if Bond is out on 4K I think thats when I will def take the jump!!)
Severine must look pretty damn good on a 65" HD screen
) Yes, everything looks so new and fresh {[]
I went for a 50 inch as, the jump to the next size was almost double the price,
Now, I may be able to bluff the wife with why I need it, but at the price for even
a 55 inch. We'd be talking divorce. )
As for 4k, I did read up about it and at the moment, there are no broadcasts in
it, so I'll give it another couple of years
Although I'm now fully connected with Bluray, Netflix, skymovies, Chromecast
Just the other night I was able to immerse myself in Dr Who on the bbc i-player
and it looked and sounded brilliant on the telly in HD
Forgot to add, watching TMWTGG. as Bond flies over Scaramanga's island. I noticed for
the first time. a fly settles on Roger's arm

Yes, 4K is a theoretical thing as far as Blu-rays are concerned.
Netflix though has content that is shown in 4K, House Of Cards for example and other new TV Shows from Netflix.
While it does look very good in 4K, the difference isn't really that big and I'm not even sure a real difference can be seen with human eyes at all. The overall picture experience may be a bit better though.
The Bond movies look all so good on a big TV in HD. When I got that new TV set earlier this year I re-watched a lot of my favourite movies. Oh, and my wife doesn't threaten me with divorce as long as she can watch the entire Twilight saga every other month on it )
) In my Man Cave it's just Me and the dog. at the moment I'm watching
Batman Returns. -{
I do remember reading somewhere, ( as you say) that 4k, goes beyond what
the human eye can pick up, so basically a lot of detail will be lost to us, as we'll
never see it. ) Although from looking at some examples in the local electronics
stores, It does look amazing, but I'll still wait a couple of years for the technology to
be sorted out and the price to come down.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Just noticed one of the problems with HD tv, watching Around the world in 80 days ( David Niven)
in the parts set in the American west. you can clearly see dirt spots on the lens )
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I just ordered a cheap little led HD projector to see if it's as good
as the reviews. Apparently it can give a full HD picture up to 150".
I'll post my opinion here after watching a few blurays through it.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I've added a sound bar, and I'm amazed at the sound quality. I now watch
the movies on the TVs "Cinema crop" setting ( basically full screen, not
letterbox) set to " Games" on the picture settings ( giving great depth of
colour) and am astounded at the quality of the picture on bluray. -{
The picture is so sharp, so much detail.

Raid?
Especially as both Lady Rose and Lexi have contributed to it....
Roger Moore 1927-2017
I think some " Gentlemen's Special interest" films have been mentioned.

Delta Force is better than Commando , Rambo I & II imo
Bruce Lee's (Big Boss , Fist of Fury , Way of Dragon.....well duh. I prefer his Chinese films in general)
Chinese Hercules (Michael Chan vs Bolo , similar to Big Boss)
Chinese Boxer (Wang Yu vs Lo Lieh)
One Armed Boxer
Hapkido
When Taekwnondo Strikes
Street Fighter II animated movie
Mortal Kombat (skip movie #2 , ugh)
Conan (ditto)
Police Academy films (they're not supposed to be more than 90 mins of silly infantile jokes , that's the bloody point )
the movies on the TVs "Cinema crop" setting ( basically full screen, not
