Having arrived back in Blighty after my latest mission (OK business trip) and now reunited with the rest of the package I thought I would share some shots of the grand opening this morning.

The package is not small and weighs in at 3.4kgs (it says so on the box!)

image.jpg

It comes in an Omega black outer box that has manuals and cards plus a polishing cloth

image.jpg

image.jpg

That incorporates the main watch box with a secret combo - you can break the code yourself (think about it)

image.jpg

And there she blows I give you the SM300 LE on NATO with 007 logo and brushed steel fittings note the curved Spring bars for the better fit for NATO strap

image.jpg

image.jpg

image.jpg

image.jpg

Open up the lid to the secret compartment and you get access to you accessories Brushed steel bracelet, Spring bar tool and Loupe plus spare straight Spring bars

image.jpg

Metal bracelet is brushed and clasp is a beasty but has the 007 logo

image.jpg

In summary it's a great package I fully commend it to anyone.
Now I am off to enjoy it :007)

It is much better than I expected being initially rather cynical about the watch and it's Bond branding. Whether it's worth the extra on the price is down to the individual to decide (I was lucky). However even at full price the quality of everything you get in the box is very good and I was happy to pay it having given it some thought.

I will be honest this is a very nice wearable investment for me. So why not you only live once and it's better than having cash in the bank doing nothing these days - plus nice touch for the premier opening night :D

    Cheers :007)

This is definitely the best Bond Omega yet! More elegant than Brosnan's Seamaster, better proportioned than the Planet Ocean and more unique than the Aqua Terra.

She's a beauty, Bond44!! Congrats on that purchase! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you save by purchasing it via DutyFree? I have another friend who bought his PO this way. Maybe I should consider it next time I travel abroad...

    Kind regards,

This might be a stupid question so forgive me if it is but why do people blank out the serial numbers?

It's duty free but not quiet completely VAT free so saved about 18% of the RRP but was still cheaper than RRP for production version. Also due to leg work I had done prior I knew most ADs would not move on the price due to its popularity making this pretty much a no brainer. Though it still caught me by surprise and the buying experience was not the usual one - I only had about 10 mins before my gate closed had a bit of a sweat on I can tell you!

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

Sorry still don't get it? They know they are numbered are 001-7007 so what does covering it up do?

Both UK ads who I usually deal with etc for the first time ever wont give me my usual discount on an Omega. Makes sense for this model as they are selling like hotcakes and SPECTRE marketing now ramping up. My main AD had 6 ordered and sold out donkeys ago before they were in hand (only received them today)

Nothing. It makes no difference whatsoever, but some people don't like giving away their edition or serial number. I don't mind giving away my edition number, but I won't post the serial as well.

As an AJB MI6 agent here - have you not heard of OPSEC?

For me happy to share shots but not numbers - why because I have (it's a personal thing about personal security).

Also In watch collecting give the fakers too much and you will get cloned as mentioned before (look up fake SM300's on the web there is one fake that has the same serial number replicated 100's of times - I nearly got stung on that one a few years back on eBay).

So why make it easy for them and broadcast it to the world - simple really.

    Cheers :-)

My local AD said they had 8 coming and that dropped to 4 and all had deposits on them. Restock date if there was one was unknown so I started looking elsewhere but then purely by chance struck lucky.

Good luck and Happy hunting for those tracking one down!

I was talking to that idiot Higgins before they were released as he was certain they'd sell quicker than usual, but I was pretty sure they'd be around for a few weeks and readily available, so I wasn't too worried about getting one, and wasn't even certain that I would. I mean, £5k can get you a lot of shoes and I have more high end watches than any man has a right too.

Saying that, I walked passed the store in Bond St and looked in the window. They had the LE Aqua Terra which I had no interest in at all (although it does look nice and subtle in person), and they had the regular SM300 too on NATO. So I walked on.

A day later, same time, same street, same boutique they had cleared the window and put the new SM300 LE on display in the box, so I popped in to ponder it, with no real desire to buy at all. Found out DC was in the store the day before. How cool would that have been, going in, buying the watch, possibly getting DC's picture wearing it and the certificate signed too. Bugger. Anyway, after seeing the watch, it was a no brainer. With the other halfs background at Omega and stories of Brozza, and mine at Rolex with stories of the competition, and some edited, enhanced and plain untrue real spy stories thrown in for good measure, the staff made an afternoon of it and we downed nearly two bottles of Bolly, and left with two more. Also managed to get a screen accurate, brushed NATO, which was a showroom prototype they had in since earlier in the year, and I left seriously chuffed, if not slightly squiffy too. Great experience no doubt enhanced by Emmas once high status at Omega impressing them or scaring them. Don't know which, but it made me happy :))

I can only echo what I've said before: After the press release I could not manage to get a fixed order with any of the german ADs that I know.

However, there where 2 of them available in the Hamburg Boutique beginning of September - they previously refused to take a fixed order from me 2 weeks before :D . I've gotten mine elsewhere :v

This aside, the thought came across that Asp9mm is AJB's Jeremy Clarkson - always making an arse of himself :D

It seems the boutiques are getting the bulk of these, and the ADs will be allocated a very limited amount. It's nearly a month now though, and they are still in boutiques. I think you'll find them until SPECTRE is released and if it's as good as we are expecting, then they'll dry up almost overnight.

Regardless of Spectre's quality - a watch owned by yourself - touched by yourself will be worth only pennies immediately :D

This is exactly it! I have been more than content with my PO on Omega Nato, but now I find myself looking at it, then looking at Bond44's photos and thinking that I should put the bracelet back on the PO and buy the SM300 LE!

I know what you're all saying about them being very hard to come by, especially after SPECTRE has been released, and I almost wish they were all gone now so I wouldn't have this decision to make!
