Looks good Bond44...I'm curious though, have RD painted a crack onto Jack or has it actually been cracked and glued back together?
Painted as the cracks fade not link up in any way - but still looks cool and in character!
But they have weathered it well you can see the difference between the two new Jack is much more SA for sure. Just need the blue bequeathing box M gifted it in to finish the job
Cheers :007)
My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!
Black not blue, it's an obsolete Ryman CD Box which is no longer available. I am currently looking at an alternative but these are also in extreme short supply.
I hope you'll be sending it back for a refund or replacement...there are cracks all over it!

They had the perfect chance to make it more screen accurate than the SF edition. Shame. Although I do like that they did a 'damaged' version. That's quite cool.
I spoke to the folks at Seaway China Company, who had listed the Spectre-edition Jack for pre-order back in August, I believe. I had ordered one from them but hadn't received any updates as they are clearly in stock now at RD and on Amazon. They told me that since they are an official stockist, they were awaiting the arrival of the shipment from RD. It's due in by next Friday, and then they'll ship out from that date via FedEx. So if you've ordered from them like me, expect your Jack the week of Oct. 19. FYI, they mentioned their shipment is a total of 2,000 Jacks. Apparently, they missed the boat on the Skyfall Jack, so they're making up for it this time around.
Had I known there was going to be a lag in shipment, I would have just ordered from RD direct and probably received mine a week or so sooner. Oh well.
Looks great! Mine arrived this afternoon and I'm very happy with it. Not sure where to display it; with other Royal Doulton collectables or in its own Bond display. May need to get some more Spectre and/or Skyfall props for a Bond display as most of my stuff is 'wearables' -shirts, ties, shoes, jackets, watch etc.

What do you mean "missed the boat"? I ordered my Skyfall Jack from Seaway, got it promptly back in the day for less... by the way, you can find a thread where AJB members said my advice to use Seaway was unwelcome. 8-)

From my conversation with them, Seaway didn't order any of the Skyfall Jacks until several runs into their release. Once their popularity soared, Seaway put in the requests to RD for shipments, but they weren't able to accommodate them because they were quickly selling out on RD's site. It wasn't until very late into their release that Seaway was finally able to procure stock of them. They said they didn't want to miss any opportunity with this release, so they pre-ordered 2,000 units.
What I personally wish I knew ahead of time was that I'd have to wait for RD to ship the units to Seaway and then Seaway ship them out to me. They're basically the "middle man" if you will. If I had known that, I would have ordered direct from RD (or Amazon), and I'd be enjoying my Jack a heck of a lot sooner.
Well now I have all five versions of Jack, and to be honest I was looking at doing an crack art job on my original medium (water soluble before anyone keels over :v ) but now looking at the new one I think the've done a terrific job so the one that will go into the bequest box will be this one and my original will remain untouched. {[]
It seems that some people are buying the Jacks to resell for potential profit. If it get sold out soon the profit margin might be rather high. However there is no edition size so the number is open.
As a long time collector of many things something I learned is almost anything that is made exclusively for collecting has very little value long after the euphoria has died.
The original inter war years Jack as used in the films, I don't know how many was made probably even more than these new RD versions, will always rise in value. They were made for decoration and not for hoarding, they are not exactly rare, plenty still show up.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess my timing was good as I received mine promptly and for low cost back then. I corresponded with them as well--nice folks.

The finish on the new one is much more like the vintage version they used on screen. More yellowing and less bright colouring on the flag. The cracks, although not screen accurate are a very good representation and are more subtle as the screen used version has glue spills and much more damage on it.
