Matchless has some nice looking coats. This is not one of them.

Seriously, some of those Avengers jackets belong only on comic book characters.

    £800?! For a COAT?!

Sorry, I know I spend a lot of my time on other planets, but this is a whole different ball game.
I don't think my entire casual wardrobe would cost that much.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

In that case never ask David about how much he paid for his Tom Ford QoS Kazan coat -{ Price is relative Sir.

    I wish I had a Kazan :(

The thing that's really annoying is if you lived in Italy the same coat would be yours for £500. Yes £300 less.

I really don't get this price difference. Shouldn't all EU members pay basically the same price, barring a couple percentage points difference in VAT from country to country? That's up there with the price difference of the Craig Blouson between the US and Canada. Even with higher customs fees, Canadians still pay several hundred dollars less.

Has anyone tried to contact Matchless about their pricing policies?

Yes I contacted them when I found out and was told it was a marketing decision. I did mention to them it was a pretty s*** marketing decision tho.

I am trying to decide if I should order one to a friend in Italy or not.

I know I'm literally 2 years late to this discussion but I actually like the coat (don't hate me). I don't care much for the belt but that's just a general preference of mine. Other than that I'd totally wear it. $800 for a wool coat also isn't outlandish compared to some of the things people have bought here. If I lived somewhere cold I'd probably consider this.

I also think that, besides Suicide Squad, their Avengers jackets are actually totally cool...
