Since they are too big for me, and per what I have read online they are closer to true to size or a bit big.

I just took a risk since they were a good deal.

For info, I take a 10 in C&J and they're a perfect fit. For comparison, I normally take a 45 euro in Birkenstock, 46 in Puma, 45 in Kurt Geiger to name a few other brands that people might be more familiar with.

in case it helps anyone with sizing - my Islays are UK 10 and I'm typically an 11 to 11.5 in US shoes. More specifically I've found I'm usually an 11 in dress shoes and an 11.5 in casual shoes/sneakers.

I also have a pair of Tetburys in 10 that fit well. I do wear slightly thicker socks with the Islays but I believe that's taken into account in the last construction.

Come to think of it - I also have a pair of John White Westbury boots in UK 10 that fit comparably.

And I just checked the Clark's Desert Boots I'm currently wearing - listed at US 10.5/UK 9.5 but the almost universal rule with CDBs is to size down a half.
