What happened in the opening sequence?

It's a continuation of the final scene in CR, he is chased, and gets away to Sienna.

I should have used an emoticon. I wasn't looking for a serious answer.

I wouldn't dislike is the world - but he leaves me nonplussed

I am more angry at what the directors did to his work

I can be pretty hard on Brozzer - but watching Sam Mendes shows you what could have been...

*QoS doesn't have a memorable villain. SF does.

    * QoS does not have an emotional focal point, SF does. QoS is a rutinary action movie. SF is the epic downfall of M.

    * That said, they both have Daniel Craig playing James Bond, and that alone elevates both films.

I think the emotional focal point in QoS is supposed to be Vesper, but that part is poorly done. It's neither carried through the story nor is it in Bond's emotions. When it's not the few short moments focused on Vesper, Bond seems much happier here than in CR or SF.

    True, I agree.

Maybe that's why I like QoS for Craig - he's having a good time as Bond - not wasting his time on being an insipid sad-sack.

    Fair enough.

Is SP showing where you live?

I guess you don't like it when a Bond film is very action-heavy, which seems to explain your Bond tastes (in part anyway).

It's exactly the opposite. I don't like films which are story/character light. Don't touch the action, add what's missing. Yes, it sort of explains my tastes.

There's something to that, I think; I love what Bond says to Camille as the film transitions to the denouement: "I don't think the dead care about vengeance." There are a lot of flailing threads in QoS, and they could have been better resolved, but I do sense a bit of closure for Our Hero when the credits roll at the end.
