Recapping 007 Video Reviews

I've holded off making this topic for a long time. I'm not exactly sure whenever this truly is the 'right' time of sharing, as I'm always afraid it comes off as to much self promotion to be appreciated, but I felt I wanted to share with fellow fans anyway.

Over the passed time I made some Bond video reviews that I called "Recapping 007". I've released a few episodes on YouTube and so far they've been quite succesful! - My idea was to give each episode the same concept of background information, talking about the actual film in an indepth matter and sharing a final verdict and mixing all that up with some of my own humor and make my way through all the films chronologicly.

I run a YouTube channel that has over 5000 subscribers. My fanbase mainly consists of fans of GTA games though, since that is the content I originally started the channel with in 2007. I officially anounced today that I want to take my channel into a different direction and branch out on the Bond thing - meaning I will solely focus on Bond related content from now on. Luckily the responses have been very positive and supportive towards it!

Ultimately I just find a lot of satisfaction in the whole proces of writing these videos, editing the videos together and sharing my two cents on this great franchise. I really hope to slowly but surely reach out to fellow Bond fans with these

A lot of work is put into them. I recommend everyone check them out. They are humourous and engaging. Like the intros too.

Enjoying it right now... Now, I could be wrong and don't want to jump to conclusions, but there's just the slightest hint that you might not totally approve of Lazenby?

Could have a correct hunch there! ) Probably not to the extend of Higgins' Dalton hatred. But come on! The guy wasn't even an actor! (Glad you enjoy though! -{ )

The beauty of Bond fandom though isn't it? Its all subjective. I think you're probably mostly reffering to OHMSS? I defenitely always feel like i'm almost alone on that one. Still though, all I can really do is merely share my own thoughts, observations and opinions. Glad you enjoyed! -{

Yeah OHMSS. While opinion on it has shifted dramatically for the better, there's still quite a few people who would share your opinion. I think where I have the complete opposite opinion with your on is the PTS which I found to be excellent visually and the score intense. There's some weird colour filters going on in that scene but it doesn't bother me.

There's a few sound/colour filter changes depending on which region movie you have.

Never heared about the region differences! Intresting! Are there more of those in the franchise? And yes I am very aware the PTS mostly is regarded as being a very strong one. But again, I guess i'm a bit controversial on that movie. Still though, who knows it will grow on me too some day.

It could be pal vs ntsc, or special vs ultimate edition differences, or both. I'm not too sure on all the changes, but the most notable is Bunt's gunshots when killing Tracy

I was aware of some slight differences between the Ultimate and special editions too, but defenitely never knew about the region differences! The gunshot differences were new to me. (I never saw the first one version before, I do like the second one better, but maybe i'm just used to what I always saw)

Not sure if it's regional differences, it could just be special vs ultimate edition, surely there is a thread somewhere on this

Never understood why people would hate Dalton as Bond! He was one of the best in my opinion. But yeah, people probably probably feel the same about me not being a Lazenby fan...

Hmm.. That's weird? I checked them all just now, they work fine here. Still though, glad you found them 'manually'. And so good to hear people being positive about it overall! - And I will definitely make sure to produce more episodes!

Spent some time watching your review of Spectre and the first recap video of Dr No.
I have to say, I really, really Hate them you're too bloody good ! )
Enjoyed your first reaction to spectre video ( sorry you lost your prize poster), but I agree with
your reaction to it. Only had time to watch your Dr No video, and have to agree with the others
a very funny but informative, I love your use of language " he gives her his card so he can bang
her later" that's so fresh compared to the usual formal commentary.
I too have subscribed and will definitely be watching the rest and would highly recomend them
to all members. {[]

It was indeed a shame about the prize poster. But a couple of days ago I received an email from the theatre's. Turned out I was also the winner of the James Bond quiz held that night! And they're sending me a prize. (Don't know what it is yet, maybe it's another poster! ) )

FRWL I'm one of those who regard it highly ( I only rank my top five Bond films and it would be #4).
I can fully understand your slight niggles with it, but hey. It was made way back in 1963.
Once again, your style is amazingly friendly and welcoming. With plenty of funny quips, don't know
If you script these or if it's improvised but it's very funny.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes I'm doing my best to develop a style that isn't copied from any excisting Bond video Reviewers. And there are quite a few out there who I like, but I think one always has to be unique and be yourself

I do actually use a script, with some improvised jokes and lines here and there that come to mind. Putting the scripts together is the hardest most timeconsuming work everytime. I usually work on a script a couple of evenings, make several revisions and look at it again with fresh eyes.

I'm glad you liked the first two! Those were made quite a while ago actually! (They were made a couple of months prior to the upload dates, since I couldn't get them to work on YouTube at first...) From GF onwards I'd say, (much like the franchise) I was starting to really get into a certain formula.
