C&J Islay UK 10 NEW trade terms

FierceFierce Posts: 23MI6 Agent
I have a pair of Islay a few months old that have been worn carefully perhaps 15 or 20 times, which unfortunately are still giving me blisters from heel movement. I suspect they may be a touch large despite being quite snug across forefoot. I have sized down a couple of times at some expense and perhaps this last is just not meant for me but I refuse to give up and am hoping that a 9.5 fits. I would prefer a trade to avoid further expense of purchasing a new pair.

I have decided that a 9.5 would probably not be suitable as its more a question of heel fit than a sizing issue. With this in mind I would now consider trades of equivalent value - clothing or footwear- before selling.

Sorry to hear about this. Have you tried them all on in-store? When I was in London I went to Jermyn St. and tried on a few pairs. They were very helpful, and this last seems to be larger than most of my shoes. I found the 10 to be perfect, when I am typically 10.5 or 11 in most shoes.

I am interested in the Islay, but the timing might not be great for me.

    Good luck with the sale/trade.

I did indeed try them on in store, albeit of a reputable authorised merchant. I can't blame anyone other than myself though. I was deadset on having these boots and made a hurried purchase based on a snug forefoot fit after owning larger sizes that were too capacious in this regard without properly considering heel fit. I'm looking at cheaney as I have read they have a narrower heel cup. I'm not really in any hurry to sell so may be ill still have when you are in a buying/trading position.

Have you tried just adding a high quality insole?

I have tried before and the felt too tight across the top of my foot but perhaps I will experiment with different insoles. Thanks for suggestion :)

The official C&J insoles are ridiculously thin... never seen anything like it!

I'm still thinking its a question of heel cup shape and size rather than that of the footbed. I would be curious to know how the internal length and heel width of a 9.5 compare.

I think I'm over trying to make any stiff Storm welted boots work for me. These Islays are for sale and will consider all offers over $500

Another guy posted a thread asking for these, I referred him to this thread. Maybe you can check it out.
