Bonds folding knife in SPECTRE [Spoilers]

I thought I would kick off another hunt for a blink and you'll miss it knife.
In the film I noticed, second time around, that M has placed a black knife on the table next to the tan J Crew Abingdon weekender bag. You see it for a slip second and, if I recall properly, Bond places it away but you don't get to see it.
My first impression was that it was a modern, straight and squared off, matt black folder or auto, circa 4-5 inches folded. G10 handles and matt black blade.
He later gets it out to free Madeleine and all I could see in the cinema was him whip the knife out and quickly and smoothly open it with his thumb swipe action which tells me, as a long term knife owner, carrier and user, that it was an assisted opening or spring assisted knife such as a Spyderco tenacious / Military or an Emerson CQC7 or something, you don't however see the actual knife though its so quick.
There are literally tons of very capable knife manufacturers, it will be interesting to learn by fair means or foul what Bond was equipped with on this occasion.
Please keep an eye out for it and see what you think
Here are two of my similar models
Ironically, Gerber used to make a "Spectre" model thats now out of production but looks similar.

I remember those, nice knife and I was a fool not to have picked one up at the time How much did they go for?
Agree it would be cool to find out the model of the SPECTRE knife though
Hmmmm very interesting indeed, I didn't even catch the drop point, could be a Rick Hinderer or something like it ?

This reminds me of a scene in Body of Lies where Leonardo DiCaprio's EDC is on the table top
I hope that we can find out what it is. Wasn't the Skyfall 'range' knife just saw cheap folder ??

Just got it. Non-assist and non-expensive.

Seriously though, for $5 (including shipping) off eBay, it's close enough for me. )

The knife looks like it has:

A black body
A drop point blade that maybe stainless coloured/beadblasted, though, this could the light shining off the blade if it is polished and black. Cannot tell if its a plain blade or semi-serrated.
Is an assisted opener (Bond opens it upwards and there is a clear thumb drive.
It has a fairly wide meaty frame.
It looks like it has two distinct raised finger grips along the front of the body
A black pocket clip
A number of surface rivets
Rear lanyard hole[/*]
It could be Benchmade or Gerber or a new HK knife or any one of a number of well made typically US manufactured knives. conversely, it could be some cheap piece of rubbish the costume/prop department bought from a fishing shop.
I have looked at hundreds of knives and can't really tell yet because of the angle of the shot
best I can see at the moment is the discontinued Gerber 06 Automatic Knife S30V Drop Point
On that note has anyone confirmed the knife used in Skyfall he used to cut the bullet out?

Anyone know if these are legal in Canada?

I'm guessing certain states in the U.S., but don't know.
In fact, any weapon you can imagine besides simple folding knives is illegal here.
But guns are cool.
Go figure...

This is from Canada Customs.
Prohibited weapons document http://www.knifezone.ca/canadianknifelaw.htm
(a) Automatic knife (switchblade) An automatic knife that houses a blade that will open automatically by hand pressure applied to a lever or button in or attached to the handle (but not on the blade) of the knife. The blade is released by pressure on the lever or button, and opens with the assistance of an internal spring or mechanism.
The hedgehog ban is a wise one. I've seen them mugging old ladies.

These laws are never really rational and have mostly do with irrational fears; here in Finland side opening automatic knives are legal to own, but illegal to carry and OTF automatics are illegal to own or carry. But in general in Finland it doesn't really matter what the technical characteristic the knife has: there is a blanket law that states that "it is illegal to posses in a public place, without proper legal reason, any implement capable of being used to harm others". It is always up to the individual police or other official to make the evaluation whether the reason for possessing is legal or if the said implement poses danger to others. 8-)
Fortunately police have no right to perform summary searches with out a proper cause..... which is good..... if I were to carry a knife, or baton or heaven forbid a gun..... while not on duty.... which I would never, ever do....... officially that is, and I will wehemently deny any allegations that I have even alluded that I would under any circumstances do so...... ever!

Sadly, I'm not a fan of serrated edges else I'd order one too. But good 007 catch!
