Has anyone compared Indy's Barbour the to actual Barbour?

Also the fit on the pictures looks very loose, would it be possible to get it in a slimmer, screen accurate, fit?

    Thanks -{

    Are you talking about the polo or the waxed jacket? If the latter, these are entirely made-to-measure, so if you supply slim measurements, that's what you'll get! -{

Yes, the waxed jacket. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, Steve, I didn't see your update. Shoot me an e-mail and we'll see if we can come up with a solution.

Got my polo today and I'm very happy! I ordered a large and usually wear a size 42. I think I'm right on the line with the fit. Probably could have gone for an XL but I'll manage.

This is the closest color to the TF "Sky". We had a lighter blue available but it looked weak.

As for the "flapping" issue, we have addressed this with our pattern maker and the sky blue shirts have been adjusted accordingly. They haven't been field tested first (I find that it's the first lot of wear-wash-and-wear that really is the test).

Also, here is a story from a customer I thought you would enjoy reading:

I went to Las Vegas this past week and was walking down the Vegas strip when I saw a sign for a Tom Ford store. I had never been to a Tom Ford store before and seeing as how I was wearing your Spectre Polo Shirt at the time, I just had to compare yours to the real thing.

As soon as I walked into the store they recognized my shirt as one of theirs, before I even brought to attention to it. I asked to see their other Spectre items and they insisted that since I had the shirt in blue, I needed the same polo shirt in white and were trying to sell me on it ($960! Holy ****! LoL!) . I had forgotten that I was holding your Skyfall sunglasses in my hand, but the salesman recognized them as one of theirs and asked if I wanted to see their other styles they had in stock.

I thought the whole thing was humorous. I never let on that it wasn't purchased through Tom Ford. Just thought you would want to know that the even the Tom Ford salesmen are admires of your quality. So keep up the good work!

[EDIT: I love the profanity filter... it comes out sounding like a 1966 Batman quote!]
Any idea when the Navy color will get this improvement?

Medium and Large Navy are both out of stock, so the new ones will have the same tweaks done.

Just recieved my sky blue polo, I'm very pleased and the actual colour is not as bright as in the photo, all in all a nice blue IMHO

It still looks quite bright but it's very almost this colour

For the fashion challenged, what color pants do you wear with the sky blue one?

    Is the flap/collar issue resolved?
  • coaram94coaram94 Posts: 99MI6 Agent
I just received mine in the mail. I agree with what other's have said about the color- I like it. I'll most likely pair it with some sort of khaki chinos.

In regards to the flap/collar issue. The shirt itself came with what it looks like is a pressed collar, where it is much more folded over (see 2nd picture). This may just have happened because of the long amount of time it was in the post, but regardless, I will be washing it and reforming it how I like it (see 1st picture).

I received the navy polo about a month ago. To my best knowledge, I have one of the originals. I have never had a problem with it. I wash it, make sure that the collar is sitting how I like it, and then let it dry. From my observation, the collar is similar. I'm going to wash it and wear it soon one of these days and will update this post.

*Note: the photos are taken in different lighting than one another. Side by side, there is much more of a difference between the two. And for some reason the image uploader keeps turning one of my images 90* to the left...

If you look around the opening you can see some sort of micro stitching. I don't believe that was on the polos before so i'd say that's there to fix the issue.

The polo's a really versatile colour. While its not really sky blue and more like a UN blue, it would go with a lot of things. You could get away with navy, beige, charcoal, khaki, grey, white if you're brave, even yellow if you're super brave. Jeans in a dark wash would be great as well.

I've never had an issue with a flappy collar, even on the navy one, once it's been pressed after washing (inside out) it stays in place for me.

Indy - on your product page the picture looks a lot like drum007 (post #127) down to the watch strap?

I ask because he says he's 6' wearing a Large while your product page indicates a 6'1 model wearing a Medium. Kind of tough to get a feel for sizing.

All sizes of our navy polo are now in stock, including XXL: http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/spectre-polo-shirt-navy-t-shirts-p-662.html
This is with the pattern adjustments?

I agree. I remember David saying in his vlog review on the polo that he went with a large and I believe he's a couple of inches less in both height and chest than Magnoli's model...who is wearing a medium :s

To try to help guys -

I originally ordered a Large(im 6ft, 41 chest and a shae under 200 lbs, pretty shaped with 34 waist). It was too tight. I could get it on but fitted like a lycra top
Ordered the XL and then another as i loved it so much. I have the TF in a 42 and they fit identically
To me, and fits with DZ comments re his large. Go one size up for SA fit
It is also quite short so dont panic that it will be long on you either

Hope that helps given ive tried various sizes

With a 40 chest and 31 waist, the large fits me well....medium can fit me if I haven't eaten breakfast....

I'm 6' 3" 34-35" waist 44" chest and I've had both navy and the lighter blue in XL fit is fine on me I think, hope this helps.

It sounds like most people prefer sizing up... so forget the 6'1" 41" chest guy wearing a medium... (that's just me... and I like tight shirts). ;%

The shirt looks pretty good but you have to make some improvements on the v-neckline.
If you look at the Tom Ford the bottom of the neckline is not a sharp V but rather a U-form.

    NMN3PLH_mk.jpg

The Magnoli instead has a sharp V at the bottom of the neckline:

I know its been discussed over and over but for those that own the Magnoli Spectre polo, did you order one size up?

I have a 42" chest, 34" waist and weigh 185 lbs. Probably less after COVID closed the gyms lol.

Anyone with similar measurements own this?
