Bellucci as Lucia... SPOILERS

GoldHildingGoldHilding WinnipegPosts: 58MI6 Agent
I saw the film last night with my wife, and although she enjoyed it as a whole, she was annoyed with how Lucia was seemingly dropped from the plot. It's obviously implied that she would be dead within hours (if not minutes) of Bond leaving but my wife was bothered that they never clearly followed up on it, or showed Lucia again. She's convinced most people will be bothered by this, and while I agree, I think it has more to do with Bellucci's fame and all the hype surrounding her going into Spectre. My theory is if the role of Lucia were played by some complete unknown, and we knew nothing about the character going in, chances are most wouldn't care that she's dropped so abruptly. Did all of the hype and Bellucci's name give people a false expectation of what to expect from her character?

Other people I've talked to expected Bellucci to have a larger role because of all the hype of her being the oldest Bond girl. But I got from her exactly what I expected. I knew her character was not the main Bond girl and would be the one to die.

Interesting that her fate is unresolved; it's possible that she's still alive. That in itself is a bit of a departure from the Craig-era formula, where whomever sleeps with him in Act 1 or Act 2 has to die in the film.

She was obviously always going to be the minor romantic interest but once
again, she gave a very strong performance. I love as she surrenders to Bond
perhaps because he has brought an element of hope back to her, a tear runs
    down her cheek. I really liked that, a lovely touch, from a great actress. -{

I don't think people are right who say that she was underused! It was pretty clear that she isn't the main Bond girl. look at the history of these type of women, they never last too long in the movies.
on the other hand, I wouldn't have mind to have seen more of her, she is absolutely S T U N N I N G!

She does survive. Bond says to her that he will ask his friend Felix Leiter to get her to safety. Although I think it's a shame we don't actually get to see Felix.

I saw the film last night too and I was disappointed not to see more of her in the film, but probably for completely different reasons than your wife. :))

I also got exactly what I was expecting and thought she was excellent. I too believe she survives because Bond took out the first two baddies and then made arrangements for protection in the U.S. for her. And finally, I think it was a shame that Felix didn't appear.
Hopefully we'll have Felix back in the next one.

I thought it was assumed she was killed. Especially when Blofeld tells Bond that all the women he's involved with die because of him.

She was amazing... I really wish they used her more in scenes... I honestly hope she is in the next one as she would be great.. They really should bring Felix back in the next one...

I got what I expected from her out of the role. I'm assuming she survives. Great job in the role. But plot wise it wouldn't have benefitted the story to go back to her character.

It was generally implied that she had a lesser role in the movie than the other actress.

What I did not expect was her completely disappearing after the first 15 minutes.

I do not think we can assume that she was killed. Bond's reference to Felix was meant to give her character a chance of survival.

As an aside, I thought Bellucci had considerably more chemistry with Craig than Seydoux.
