What I don't like is when people say Craig saved Bond. Yes, he brought it into a new Era. But didn't every Bond?
Not really, Craig has bought the criticial acclaim and box office of the Connery peak era back to Bond. The Movies have gone back to been events once again, people who aren't Bond fans want to see them.
Anyway my problem with Brosnan at the time and even now is he lacks that swagger of a Connery or Craig, I always feel the actor playing Bond should bring themselves to the character. And I felt Brosnan couldn't bring himself to the role, he wanted to be Connery mixed with Moore and he bought nothing new to the table. Goldeneye is a great film but it isn't cause of Brosnan.
Brosnan looked very convincing as a cold killer to me in that scene in TND when his Bond killed Kauffman.
Brosnan is too much of a pretty boy Imo, a bit like Sir Roger.
I never felt he was convincing as a cold blooded killer. I agree he looks too pretty boyish, I felt anyone could kick seven lumps out of Moore and Brosnan but you can't say the same with Connery, Lazenby, Dalton or Craig, they look like they could handle themselves in real life (well Connery did kick the crap out of 5 guys in a bar). Why I love Connery and Craig is that they have suave, coolness and kick assery that is needed to play Bond. I feel every actor playing Bond should have that.
But Brosnan and Moore have their fans but for me neither look like they could kick ass but I'm sure they could charm the granny's knickers off.
The Bonds I like best aren't necessarily the best fighters, but the ones who were great with a one-liner.
Hence why Brosnan, Dalton and Moore are my faves.
I like Connery, but his performances for me were a mixed bag.
Craig has some good one-liners here and there, but his Bond always feels to me like he's missing something and I feel he has a so-so set of one-liners.

Usually I can get into blasting the Brosan-haters, but I'm so full of good will thanks to seeing SPECTRE recently that I will give all of the nonsense a pass... for now.
It was Millennium force who brought this subject up. If you want to contradict me - go ahead. I'm open to new interpretations
As for the photo of Brosnan. He's 49 and looks it. Holding your belly in doesn't make you 007. What were they feeding him in that North Korean prison? Chocolate flavoured scorpions?

To me this is the best acting display by Pierce in all of his movies. The delivery and look on his face when he says "Call him off!" is incredible. Then he goes on to shoot her.
I find most other scenes, in particular the sword fight scene is he's acting pissed off, not actually pissed off. Seems to me, he was getting his best direction in TWINE.
It's true Brosnan gets the most criticism around here and Lazenby gets a pass because he only did one film and OHMSS is rated so highly by rans (and rightly so). Brosnan's films are hit and miss.
Can I just reiterate that TWINE is my favourite Bond film lol
I mean I'm not a huge Craig fan but I don't bash him or his films the way Brosnan and his movies seem to get bashed.
Just because I'm not as huge on Craig as others are doesn't mean I can't like anything about his era. After all, Camille and Ms. Swann are products of the Craig Era :x.

Brosnan would not have owned CR, he looked out of shape in DAD and he didn't have the look of a killer in his eyes, DC has the killer look and is cool in the role.
You are correct that Craig looks like a killer, but don't forget that the classic Bond should also look like a gentleman...
Before I joined this forum, I would never have guessed that there is so much "hate" for Mr.Brosnan. lately, in every thread you can read begative comments about the Brosnan films, now this gets started; I tell you it is really crazy

I wouldn't say hate so much as disappointment. And the box office numbers suggest the general audience feels the same way.
Box office numbers? Brosnan's movies did not exactly lose money... The higher figures for Craig are due to inflation and more marketing. You don't get box office success by just making a great movie nowadays.
