Well have to say pretty hacked off!
After placing an order on 5th Nov early morning, well as soon as they became available on the UK site have literally just received the dreaded "your order has been cancelled" email.
What is going on, a week after ordering getting a cancellation email.
I've been trying to get this jacket in the correct size (large) since the summer and had a previous order cancelled by Borderfree, only to be told I'll get one when they were re-released late Oct which then became Nov and now this....
Anyone else had this in the UK, has the stock been allocated to other markets due to demand as just very surprised not to get one after ordering so early.

Those with jacket orders at the stores, those are in stock and being held for their depositors. Additionally the stores have overstocked, so that those with orders can try on and switch sizes as necessary to get the right fit if they haven't had a chance to try these before. Consequently there is likely to at least be some limited in-store stock available at some point.
To the best of my knowledge JV aren't limiting the numbers on these jackets, so they may go the way of the BR peacoat and keep selling them for as long as there is a solid demand.
Keep trying and good luck.
I've got my jacket now but I didn't get any notification regarding the delay moving delivery to November so I had to chase them up over it.
When I placed the order I said I'd need a delivery as i won't be able pick it up from the London store as I'm from Manchester and they seemed to not have noted that anywhere as , when I got the call that the jacket was finally with them , I was left a voicemail saying "your jacket is now available to pick up from the store so please ring to arrange a pick up". Which made me chuckle.
Then got quoted £50 delivery from London to Manchester! Which you'll later find out is exhaustionate.
I then rang at my amazement , to negotiate the price of postage as I tend to post things from time to time off eBay so know a general idea regarding weight , postage and insuring packages ect.
Got it to £30 , which I was still quite reluctant to pay , based on the unprofessional way I'd been dealt with already so far. In fairness I got it next day early morning (12th Nov).
To my surprise though , on the box it had the price of the cost of the postage............ £11!!!!
To add insult to injury , I dealt with the exact same person throughout the process and when I got told the initial £50 postal charge , I was told very sternly that John Varvatos wasn't there to profit from postage fees. Make of that what you want!
So a nice email went straight out with picture evidence of what I received and it will be dealt with at the highest level if needs be.
Sorry about the essay but I felt after reading others experience I would pass on my experience
Over the moon regarding the jacket and can't fault it and know it'll be used a lot and worn frequently
But the service is inexcusable and a disgrace , especially when spending £500 odd for a jacket never mind ordering it in June then having to chase them over details the ENTIRE time.
I genuinely don't often complain but on this time it will be sorted and I hope for their sake efficiently and effectively !!
Not a fan of Varvatos customer service to say the least -{
Plus if you register for emails you get a code to knock a further 15% off online, yet the stores supposedly won't accept the code.
That said I got a $100 voucher on a $200 purchase emailed to me in October as a previous customer. It was only valid in store and not online. So when I took it into London they were happy to accept it but switched it to £100 off on a £200 or more purchase. Ended up buying two tops instead of one, but hey 8-)
Anyway, good luck with your complaint. Hopefully JV will make good on it.
Onto more positive news. I ordered the jacket on Nov 5th. I got my order for a XXL in today and have it in hand at the moment. It came in very well packaged and is a very good jacket for these California winters (Really they're just extended Fall seasons).
I wonder if they truly do not know how to handle this type of demand or if they don't care. I don't think JV have had a product of theirs featured in film like this before. What's even more odd is how this is not even JV's premium line. It's a Star USA line product which is actually their low priced collection.
Also how they didn't advertise the jacket at all.
I would think the production line In China is working now to build inventory so hopefully you guys don't get left without one after this.
I would say your right, that they are just inexperienced in dealing with the strength and volume of 'Bond Demand' when it comes to products featured in the 007 films. It's not that they don't care, otherwise they would not have put the jacket back into production for the same original price.
Their London store staff stated that the jacket did not originally sell well at all, hence so many being on sale when the Bond connection struck. That was also what appeared to have caused the jacket to end up in the film too, because JV London state they were approached for a jacket by the SPECTRE production and they offered the Suede Cafe Racer, as they could supply the production with the quantity required from all the unsold jackets they had. That was also why a quantity of jackets were returned by the SPECTRE production specifically to the London store and a couple of lucky people on this site were then able to snag production held (but not used) jackets for themselves.
JV London staff have also stated they were surprised that when the jacket was reissued there was not a decision to increase the price, because the leather jackets in the JV Star USA range are now being offered in the £600 - £800 price point.
Taken overall, JV don't seem to have done too bad a job, but a little more consistency in the customer service wouldn't go amiss.
Honestly, if you wanted to see a really poor attitude towards movie prop collectors and a singluar disinterest in marketing a product to everyone's advantage, then should have been an Indy Gear fan back in the day when Herbert Johnson / Swain Adeney Bigg could-not-care-less that their hat was the one Harrison Ford wore in the first three Indy movies and the staff could be down right dismissive of fans going into their London store! Probably why they are slowly fading as a business and now reduced to a tiny premises on Piccadilly Arcade.
Herbert Johnson probably cringed at seeing their hat worn improperly by Indiana Jones. Lots of the old London shops have the kind of attitude where they think they've above the bussiness from the common man. I'm quite certain the production would have bought the hats from them and didn't provide them for the publicity. Those kinds of shops have a much different attitude to most modern businesses. That's why Anthony Sinclair is doing so well compared to the traditional London tailors. They don't care what kind of education their customer had, and they're not ashamed to use the Bond connection to market their clothes.
I am surprised to see Varvatos like this, but them being a bigger non-luxury company means they might not care as much about individual customers.
For the life of me I can't remember the name of the chap at HJ (it will be on the Indy Gear website somewhere), but he actually fitted HF after Steven Spielberg took him into their store. That fellow did Indy Gear fans proud for many years, but on his retirement other HJ / SAB staff were not interested. I'll bet most could not even 'bash' a hat properly, let alone cut the brim to fit the individual.
I agree DM has tapped into a market he can only prosper in with his marketing strategy, particularly by pulling together other quality brands to offer from his stable.
Well done, that's the fellow! {[]
I paid my £100 deposit months but never had any communication from them unless I called
1) No willingness to match the 15% discount in store
2) No promise to hold a jacket for me and notify me when they're back in stock...instead, my original order was dead and it was my responsibility to know when it was re-stocked and then to re-order myself.
The only 'favour' they did me was to say that a 15% discount could be used on my next order.
So JV on-line gets a 2/10 on my scale. However, the in-store experience was superb. From the time I called to see if they had it, to my going in to collect it, to the free alterations they did for me, JV in-store gets a 10/10. I would be very hesitant to order anything from them on-line again though. Next time if there was something I wanted, I'd try Mr Porter or somewhere else first.
I've emailed them but I am waiting on a reply at the moment.
Damn! Major kick in the teeth... Emailing them for an explanation; not expecting much from reading above posts

Yes please
Here we go again...
Guys you might want to reach out to the store, much better service and if they get any returns you might get lucky...
That said, I am a little disappointed with the lack of contact for over 2 weeks, so I probably won't deal with them again due to this sort of customer service. There are other jackets that are better quality (albeit more expensive), so I might just go with another one.
