Tomorrow is a uniquely American holiday, for the most part...it's also odd in that it falls on a Thursday every year...

But, best wishes to all ya'll...

Too many people try to degrade holidays, especially this one and Columbus Day,,,the fact is that civilizations sometimes collide, things sometimes go well, sometimes don't....

Remember what it's about....

Holidays often come with a baggage. Columbus Day or Australia Day have negative connotations and divide rather than unite. Simple solution - replace them with a nicer holiday!

Thanksgiving has morphed into a time of thanks for our loved ones or the fact that we have what we have in our lives. The root of this holiday is of course not cool.

The wife and I slept in this morning...then went out and had a leisurely breakfast at our favorite place..then we drove down to the river to see if it was to the top of the levee..it's close...around noon I dropped by a gun shop and picked up a new rifle. Remington is going to rebate me $150 on it for buying it on Black Friday..no crowds, no fuss,,just a mail in coupon...

It's still raining like crazy here and the streams are starting to get a little high..

I wanted to go sight my rifle in tomorrow, but I doubt I can get into the farm with the water over the road..which is very likely by Saturday morning..
