Missing cues from OHMSS soundtrack

I'm a massive fan of this soundtrack but there are a couple of pieces still missing.
The first is a source piece that you hear during one of the snow scenes. A bit vague I know. It's a bit like a marching piece I think. I can't hear it in my head now. In the film it sojnds like it is playing on a radio.
The second is only a couple of bars and you hear it when Bond is fighting one of Blofeld's henchmen on the edge of the cliff. I think it plays as the bad guy gets up (you think that Bond has strangled the bugger with one of his skies) and launches himself at Bond only for Bond to flip him over his shoulder and off the cliff. It's at this point that music stops.

I'm quite sure that the couple of bars of dramatic music isn't on the 2003 master.
Also, this isn't the cue that I was thinking of but it is another unreleased one!

How the blazers could they have left that twang in the track Alpine Drive from Goldfinger? Do you know about stuff like that?
Do you know what I mean? During the lush strings playing there is what sounds like a twang on a guitar or something similar. Also the chipmunks in the background during Matt Monro's FRWL
The "chipmunks" only appear on one version of the vocal FRWL, the stereo one (they're not on the mono). My friend The Cat, who used to be a regular here, and I had a long chat about it on this forum many years ago and it's recording engineers speaking very speeded up. I've just had a listen to "Alpine Drive" and there's a guitar twang about 40 seconds in. It's repeated later, so I don't think it's an error.
Yes, I think I remember the discussion. I remember The Cat from another Bond website that I used to frequent. I think it turned into MI6community.com. Shame cause I prefered that old forum to MI6.

Regarding Alpine Drive, the twang that I mean is at approximately 90 seconds but I think you are correct about it being intentional. The first occurence is at about 40 seconds but it is much softer and I have never noticed it before. The second one - that I have always noticed, is clearlt a little more unsubtle, but intentional.

No, I don't frequent other Bond forums regularly unless there's a specific reason- I love it here!
*In the early 60s (DN-FRWL period), Barry was signed to Ember Records and recorded versions of FRWL and 007 for that label (pretty inferior versions, IMHO). He then signed to Columbia (CBS) and did further versions of those two tunes for that label, plus the Theme, GF as mentioned above, TB, MKKBB, YOLT, Space March, Try, WHATTITW and OHMSS- these have been compiled many times by that label. Interestingly (I hope), he also recorded "Who Will Buy My Yesterdays" for that label and this was the only place to hear that tune (composed for OHMSS but not used in the film and not on the original issue of the score) for about 30 years.
I could go on (and on) about this if you like!
It has just occurred to me that the twang in question is quite similar to the sound made in LALD when Rog snips the cables on Tee Hee's hook........!
Very interesting information there Barbel and no I don't know any of those versions. I'll have to look them out.
I'll happilly listen to more of this kind of info. I'd particularly like to know more about who were the players on those early recordings, up to DAF really. Some of the musicianship is stunning.
We moved house a couple of months ago and I'm ashamed to say that my cds and records are still in boxes. I have however just purchased a pair of Cambridge Audio Aero 6 speakers and I'm running them in as we speak (well, type!) So I'm getting there slowly. When I get my collection back out I will put some questions to you.
I found it fascinating reading through the sleeve notes to the LaLaLand records issues of Rosemary' Baby and Stephen King's IT. People like Ray Brown and Don Ellis, I think even Larry Bunker plays some percussion. Anyway, I could go on too.......... Interesting stuff Barbel

Derek Watkins is a fantastic trumpeter beyond Bond. I have him playing lead trumpet on some jazz albums as well.
