Proper cloth sell a Prince of Wales check suit that’s almost identical to the Whitehall suit. Their service provides a made to measure programme with free alterations and the suit is customisable. You can add the 3-roll-2 buttoning, change the lining, have an extended waist band with side adjusters and so on. Furthermore, their custom shirts can be offered with tab collars.
They ship from the US (I believe there’s a store in NYC) and international shipping costs are calculated at the checkout. For those of us in the UK, it specs up to about £800 MTM and they cover up to $120 of alterations or two remakes. Returns are at the buyers cost so it’s definitely an investment. Looks like I need to save up a bit )
Not too bad at all. Their navy glen plaid, customised, is a good budget alternative to the other TF suit we’ve seen, the navy glen plaid one obviously. https://propercloth.com/tailored-clothing/allen-navy-s110s-glen-plaid-suit-96.html Might get in touch with the company and see if they can do slanted pockets and a narrower, 3” lapel (their standard width used on the 3/2 button is 3.5”, the narrow width only available on the 2 button is 2.8”).

Tbh the 3.5” lapels are better for me. I prefer wider than average and personal preference sometimes has to take priority.
As for the suit - I actually bit the bullet and bought one from this company. It was a three piece Glen Plaid resembling GF or the TF in NTTD. It was $70 and I obviously wasn't expecting much.
As it turns out, the suit wasn't that bad. It didn't have the cheap shine that usually go with synthetic suits. I spent another $100 tailoring, cutting all loose threading and buttonholes and spent another $40 on new buttons as the ones that came with the suit were awful. After all the work done, it is passable as a decent suit.
How many dry cleanings it survives is another story!
Decided to take a chance on the cheaper alternative to the Rogue Territory waxed canvas jacket. This "Maden Waxed Canvas Jacket" was purchased off Ebay. Initial verdict: Not too bad at all for what it is. Tough as nail and feels bullet-proof, this thing will definitely stand up on its own. You have to size up for this. And like all garment from China the sleeves are abit short for my gorilla arms. But these kind of vintage jacket are usually shorter on the sleeves. I actually really dig the "Vintage Americana" look. Initially I wasn't sure if it fits as it does not drape at all, and it looks "poofy", but these kind of material will mould itself on your body. So it looks rather flattering after abit of time. Thumbs up!
It's certainly a stiff piece of garment! I've had Waxed jacket before (Belstaff, Barbour, Superdry etc), but this one takes the cake. When I unboxed it I was almost unsure whether this thing is fit for wearing! But I am pleasantly surprised at how it moulds around the body after you put it on. Beside the sleeve length I'm actually quite happy with this. Oh but there is this lingering smell that's starting to fade now after hanging it outside for a few days, thank goodness.
Now How to go about getting rid of those folding creases from packaging.... ?:)
I wore my Maden today. It's moulding itself and now fits even better. I think my XL jacket was an Amazon return since it was much softer than my size XXL and had a bit of a patina. In this case that was a blessing. ) ) )
The folds from shipping are gone. Now to somehow train the collar.
Sizes are rather limited but I’ve ordered one to have a look - any thoughts?
Price is good and the shirt is nice.....Chambray is really a great fabric but : you need to change the buttons now, no ? I read they are the same color than the shirt on the SA one, correct ?
In some pictures the buttons look the same colour as the shirt, in other pictures they look white so I’m not sure. I took pictures of the shirt/suit at the London Film Museum (Bond in Motion) and they looked blue - I’ll have to go back and look more closely!
My name has changed! I’m no longer dufus......now I’m DB6
I put in an email to Huckberry about the dark brown Dukeflex. Customer service was going to relay my request to their buyers for upcoming season. Email Huckberry and ask for them to carry the dark brown.
Heard back from Huckberry, inquired where I had seen the dark brown but didn't make any offer that they would try to carry them or even check into further.

While I am not sure if we have any plans to carry the Dukeflex in Dark Brown, I will be sure to pass this message along to the buying team for consideration when purchasing in the future.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
Do you guys think it would be worth it to share the effect of “the bond connection” with the folks over at Huckberry... let them know they will sell out every pair they get in. Just a thought. They’re SO CLOSE to the drakes. And I have two pair of astorflex already that i love.
When I emailed Huckberry I specifically mentioned the new Bond film and suggested they pass along the request to their buyers because it would be a big seller.
I bought the j crew they are identical and are made by astorflex, I have not done it yet but I looked into it and you can dye suede pretty easily. So if you hit them 50 percent off like I did, I paid a little over 50 usd and 10-15usd for dyes and supply. Some time spent you could get darn close I’d suspect.
A bit of a throwback but does anyone knows a good alternative to the Tom Ford Solden jacket? Most of the old ones are sold out besides Moncler/CanadaGoose.

Did you purchase the anchor grey or stone with the intent of dying them? when do you plan to dye them? Would love to see the finished product.

Yes, seconded. I wouldn't mind something like that for when it's chilly.

I found them on ebay new with tags so it's definitely worth having a hunt. They are a slim fit and come up pretty much true to size.

Unfortunately not much customisation.
Fortunately, both the body and arms are long enough for me.
I've not had the opportunity to wear it out yet. I hope it will soften up a bit more when I finally wear it.
