I've been seeing ads for Thursday Boots a lot so decided to check them out. They've got some really nice pieces with decent prices and good reviews (most have pictures which is handy). While it's not really my style, they have a pair that definitely seem like they're a stylish take (less bulky toe) on the SP Danner Mountain Light's...and they're called the Commander.

Alden of Carmel is offering a last call clearance on a few sizes of Scotch Grain Wing Tips on Vibram Lug soles (good C&J Islay alternative). They’re going for $295 + $20 shipping which is unheard of for Aldens!

Massimo Dutti have an almost identical alternative to the TF Solden Spectre Jacket.

I have just received mine and extremely impressed with the detail, and for £80 an absolute bargain!

    Screenshot-20210101-212056-Chrome.jpg

Sizes run slightly large; I'm a 40inch chest and ordered the 38inch medium after trial and error.

Managed to finally scoop myself a good Beacon sports jacket alternative, the Lutz model from Barbour.

Cut in a similar fashion to the original Skyfall jacket, it has a slightly heavier weight cotton (8oz instead of 6oz) a nice fit and the patina it develops is beautiful. I even removed the throat belt and buckle for a cleaner, skyfall-esque appearance.

Thanks for the information! Looks great.

Would you say it's quite warm? Good as a midlayer?

    HC.

Great choice. I was wearing my one today. It’s a great jacket.

I've been wearing mine today, over a T-shirt. It's pretty warm, like a fleece, as a midlayer... but no good as an outer layer when it gets really cold.

I have a quilted Lutz in navy and I love it. Might consider picking up the cotton version as well.

As per the above comment, it is a good fleece like layer. It's wool blend, coupled with a nice base layer, I.e. turtleneck (as per Spectre) would ensure you remain warm from cold weather.

Goldfinger Slazenger Burgandy Golf Jumper is available with an (in effect) permanent 30% discount.

    https://www.slazengerheritage.com/product/slazenger-heritage-legend-jumper-burgundy/

Use James Bond Lifestyle's 10% off code: JBLSH10

You can also use the Slazenger Heritage 20% off discount code: slzfb20

Both codes stack for the large and permanent discount. Slazenger heritage does not do the Black Friday or Boxing Day/January sale, so I would advise to buy it now using the 30% off.

Note: The item ships from Spain.

Ok so not exactly screen accurate, but my choice of an alternative for the Crockett and Jones Molton boots.

    https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_084010665288_-1

Ok they aren't roughout or even suede and the welt is natural in colour and not black.

However they have a nice dark colour, are Goodyear Welted and have a waxed finish which is great for this time of year.

I can report that they are great quality for this price, I plan to dye the welts on mine to black.

For some reason the link won't work properly, the boots are called 'Technic Fox Brown Leather'

I have previously tried to link to the Debenhams website on here and it didn't work for me either.

    Hello everyone!

The website is alive! And (perhaps less importantly) so am I!

I'll tell the story of what's been happening in my life another time. But for now, I've updated posts on Bond sweaters, the QoS cardigan and a couple of McQueen pieces. I've also added a new post on the Commando sweater. Most of the new stuff is on the front page.

Obviously, I have a lot of catching up to do! But next week will be a big one with updates for most of the major posts (boots and outerwear) and a couple of new ones that are almost ready to publish.

Sorry for my absence and the radio silence, but it's great to be back! I hope all of you have been keeping happy and healthy!

    Cheers!
