If he were to be able to get a lock on the cord material for the duster, he could technically also do the Norway cord pants, and possibly even the cord suit?
The trousers and duster grew on me, though the duster may be hard to rock on a regular basis, I could see myself wearing the black cord pants often.
There are a lot of great affordable tees out there (although I haven't tried Costco or Uniqlo). With the alternatives for the NTTD OB tees, I tried to be as screen accurate as possible to narrow it down. So shorter length, curved hem and a wider neckline with a thinner collar band.
One good thing about buying cheaper shirts is if you find a good tailor that knows what they are doing they can take those long Costco tees and shorten and even curve the hem for a few extra bucks.
For my two scents on the tees I HIGHLY recommend Buck Mason first. They have slub and Pima cotton tees with curved hems. They come in short, regular and long inseams. I own several of their tees. At $35USD a piece they are a steal! I own many James Perse tees and Buck Mason makes a quality tee that doesn’t hit the wallet so hard. Check out the link below. They also have great henleys, jeans, jackets, sweaters, etc.. These look and fell high-end without approaching they high-end price point. They also have straight hemmed tees too I believe.
For the second recommendation I’d go with Wyr. I have a few tees from them and a bunch of henleys. They have an off-white henley that is a close color match to the one in NTTD. They aren’t a knit like the R&B, but they are GREAT! Pima cotton and spandex blend. That means they won’t stretch out much as you wear it like the R&G do. To me they are the most comfortable budget friendly shirt. All told I have 9 tees/henleys from Wyr. Be aware the don’t have a white tee. They do have cream though. It’s a great alternative, but slight color variation. Tees start at $29 and henleys at $38. They also have a bundle and save sale for the holiday season where you can get up to 30% off on 5+ items or 20% off on 3+ items. They have curved and split hemmed shirts. They carry polos too - they have it all!
Thanks for all the options! I’m getting a lot of great info here, the top on my list at the moment are the shirts, the RGT jacket and the RF Bond Peacoat. I hear they’re dropping it pretty soon. I’ve been waiting on it since I heard of it a year or so ago.
@Mailfist another great option, thanks for sharing!
New post: a simple how to guide for re-waxing a Barbour. Been wanting to do this one for a while (especially since I haven't re-waxed my Dept B in 6 years! 😲)
I've been wanting to tackle that Indiana Jones look for a while, so I'm starting with the Alden boots (which I love).
I hope no one minds that I'm sharing a non-Bond franchise post. Honestly, I feel like all the focus on NTTD through September/October and then the post-"New Bond Movie!" decompression left me a little burnt out on 007. But I've been feeling the spark coming back, so I'll have some Bond focused posts coming very soon. I'll just be mixing them up with other style icons more than I have in the past. If people aren't cool with me posting non-Bond content here I totally understand (this is a Bond focused forum, after all). Feel free to share your thoughts and I promise no hard feelings!
Nice post, I've been re waxing my belstaffs and Barbour's for years now, what is remarkable is of all the businesses you could have engaged with and you use Micheal Stewart which is literally my local menswear store 🤣🤣
That's hilarious! They actually reached out to me after I shared a link to their website on Instagram. Ended up talking with Sam (really nice guy) and they certainly impressed me with how they want to manage their relationships with customers. They also seem to have some of the best prices for Barbour jackets and a good selection of sizes.
They are a great little company, done a lot with their online presence too and they always have proper genuine sales as well, iirc they've been going since Connery was Bond .
I picked up these Goodfellow Pajama Pants in Navy at Target for $15 and they are really comfortable and fit the bill for Bond's "recovery" outfit pants in Casino Royale! Draw string is on the outside and also no rear pocket which looks SA.
Excellent find, i think i may pick these up. At first glance of your post, I thought it might have been pajamas with these 3 guys on it. The brand name threw me for a second.
@drum007 Nice, I guess. But where were you when we needed these 14 months ago!!!! 😁
Quick hit post this morning. I've updated my review of the Aklasu 6 fold micro pattern navy tie to include a comparison to the tie Bond wears with the TF PoW navy suit in NTTD
LOTS of people that deserve credit for this one (I've included you all in the post update, and the IG and FB posts). First, @006 and @Mattia De Varti for presenting some very strong evidence that Bond's tie is from Prada. They also credit Matt from Bond Suits (@Matt S ) for an assist on the discovery. Their article on @fromtailorswithlove goes into more detail:
I'll ask here - and pardon me if it's the wrong thread - as I don't know where to. I was on the fence to buy a pair of Scotch & Soda: Daniel has been wearing them for quite some time now and they seem pretty comfortable.
Anyone who had an experience about the sizing. Usually am 31/32 in Jack & Jones I have. I've reached their customer service and was adviced to go for my usual size both in Ralston e Dean (the models I considered), but while one is slim fit, the other is more relaxed.
Hope you can share your opinion!
P.S. no worry if they're a little long in the leg, my tailor can fix that
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them!
I also want to give another shout out to Daniel Love (@SilverFinger). I make my opinions (positive and negative) about the blazer pretty clear in the review. But I also want to say that I (and I have no doubt many others) really appreciate all you do for the community. And the design of the functioning button cuffs is genius! 😁
John, I think you treated the issue with the sport coat with grace and tact. I own a near-enough BC from the year of production and it's a hard-to-pin down color, that's for certain. But I have never remotely seen pink tones in it.
Dan Love, as you note, is a professional and a perfectionist, and I'm sure he hates not nailing one of this products. I won't hesitate to buy Royale pieces going ahead. God knows I already have a closetful.

Uniqlo supima cotton t shirts work well in my
opinion.
For the t-shirts, I listed some options in this post (scroll to the bottom):
Cheapest ones are at Old Navy ($30 for a 3 pack with white, grey and black, with the thinner collar band and curved hem)
And SIS Training Gear has a good one in grey or white for $29.99 but it is a little longer through the body
Costco white T-shirts are remarkably good for the price too and are well made

John, one thing about them (Costco) is they are quite long unfortunately
Morning everyone!
Some non-Bond content today. I'm digging the sweater weather, so I re-visited alternatives for McQueen's Bullitt roll neck!
Cheers!

I simply cannot recommend Buck Mason or Wyr enough for budget friendly options.

Another GE Monte Carlo budget alternative. Charles Tyrwhitt cashmere cable knit crew neck £149.95.
These must be coming back in fashion again.

Thanks: I bought some Barbour wax a while ago and have been meaning to get around to it. I think I might need to wait until it gets warm again.
Happy Sunday!

No I love reading about Indy stuff; I have a very lovely Bill Kelso Relic Hunter jacket which I love.
Wasn’t he Bond’s son, ‘junior’ ? 😃
Loophole! 😁

HA!!! Ain't that he truth! 😂

I take my usual size in Scotch & Soda (consistent in Rag & Bone and Levi’s etc). Hope that helps.
I own a few of their jeans and all are in my usual 36 sizing. Very comfortable and highly recommend them!
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
Much appreciated @Enjoying Death. And are they all Ralston or even other models if I may ask?
I believe most if not all are Ralston.
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
Cheers all!
