Thanks Jacob Mortensen! Appreciate the kind words!
armenianmovieman: that is a REAL budget option! Thanks for sharing!
angelicbond: as the others have said, very nice work!
Not really a "new" post, but I've completely updated the post on alternatives for the BC Morocco Chinos, based on what we now know about the color; DBS was gracious enough to let me use some of his photos. I've added about 6 or 7 new options.
Great thinking. Unfortunately the shirt is sold out now. But out of curiosity, which alterations did you have made?
I got the Small size, but as you can see from the photos on their website, it is not slim fitted so I should have gone with the XS. So I had the tailor take it in a few inches and she took up the back of the shirt, which hung slightly, and made it look more like a jacket. Overall I am very happy with it, except I feel I may have had her take it in a tad too much, but I won't be closing it anyway!
I also managed to pick up an "Enjoying Death" brown leather jacket in Morocco for a good price.
Just received the Tommy Hilfiger Gibbs jacket from Amazon as an alternative to the BC Morocco jacket. It's a no go! It looks identical on my screen to the BC one, but just received a very olive green jacket. Not even sure if they sent me the right one...
angelicbond: I'd love to see some pics of the Menlo alternative you picked up!
Jacob Mortensen: Damn! That's the problem with only having online pics to go off of. When it comes to an item from a brand like Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren, which are available at multiple retailers, I try and look at as many different pics from as many sites as I can to make sure the at least the color will be accurate. In the case of the Gibbs, I looked at it on about 4 or 5 different sites, and the color looked the same (light brown with a subtle pattern) in all the different pics. Does the jacket you received have a color code? I can maybe check that out to see if you got the right one.
In happier news: James Brosnan has done what I've been nervous about doing and tackled affordable alternatives for Pierce Brosnan's Omega Seamaster:
Already shipped it back. It said "brown/olive" on the tag and had the correct fabric composition as well as the correct pattern but was definitely green. It could be the right jacket but seems weird that I can't see even a hint of green in the online pics. Buttons were dark green as well and the pictures seem to show brown buttons. Oh well, the hunt goes on!

I updated the post with your observations and added another TH option. Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm sure everyone really appreciates it!
Just a quick update: I found a couple of new options for the Barbour X To Ki To BUT there are only a couple of them in stock on ebay. The different sizes are entered as different listings (there's 6 listings in total), so rather than include all the links here, I'll just direct you all to the post
So last Friday I had 2 hours to kill before going home after finals were over and thought I'd stop by Costco and then the mall.
Found 2 Craig era alternatives some may be interested in:
The floral is a potential Enjoying Death alternate, but without pockets, and was in the clearance section at Banana Republic, I believe it was $30.....
The other was at Costco; on their site it's $20.... could possibly be a few bucks less in store, I didn't check. But the brand is Age of Wisdom and I imagine someone will find it to be a decent Orlebar Train shirt alternate.
Once the shine from the wax cotton dulls down a little, that could be a great one! Thanks, I'll add it to the post with credit to you for the find. UPDATE: Just added it!
In the post on alternatives to the Enjoying Death shirt, I mentioned a white budget option ($16) from "Truth, Substance and Common Sense" you could dye blue. I had a chance to try on a similar shirt from them (same cut and details but different pattern) and I added some pics of it to the post. Honestly, I think it would be a great option if you don't mind the extra step of dyeing it; I'm going to pick one up and give it a shot myself and let you guys know how it turns out. You can find the info on the shirt here:

Thanks for the credit on your great site. Yes, the shine was a worry for me too.
And I like how you've kept your identity hidden......
A bit of a stretch and I'm fairly certain this hasn't been posted yet but I imagine one could use this as an alternate to the Dunhill from Layer Cake or the Skyfall Menlo?
It's $230 but Kohl's will have their 30% off sale within the next several days with free shipping, as long as you're a Kohl's card member. So $161 plus tax with free shpping.
Tried something different with today's post. I wanted to explore the ways we can mix and match clothing from the different Bond films to get more use out of specific pieces and create different looks in our daily lives. So I started with the different ways to wear the Harrington with other Bond items. Let me know if you guys like this idea and I can try to do a post like this every month or two. If you hate the idea, that's fine too! )

Yeah like this C2, I like to mix up my outfits, I've been putting together some summer bond inspired outfits using pieces from CR, qos and tb. some I've had for years and a few new pieces. Good work...... As usual -{
But since you mentioned the Topangas, I figured I'd just say that they can also be found in a wider variety of sizes and shipping more favorably for our American friends at sneakersnstuff.com

Bachrach has their linen suits on sale... The Antigua Grey linen suit isn't too bad of a very budget (at these sale prices) option... details are off here and there... But at that price, for those interested in a not too far off look..
Too long, ugly side zipper and the collar looks weird. But then it has the lighter color (than most suede jackets I've found) and already a stand-up collar. Does anyone know if the zipper would be removable?
Is Zara going the enjoying death route again? This one's pattern doesn't look right but there have been an awful lot of "floral" shirts recently.

I'm going to check out Zalando some more to learn about their shipping policy. I did try on that Zara linen shirt and it is THIN!! My chest hair was poking through the fabric )
I did see that Lands' End belt, but I didn't include it because they only had 1 or 2 sizes left and it had the brass buckle.
Thanks! Saw the Dillards on your website of course, but didn't order (yet) because 1) it looks very roomy and is non-returnable and 2) when I checked earlier, shipping was supposed to be 26€, now when I click your link it is only 9€ ?:)
The link in the post was for the U.S. Dillards site. The link I just posted here was for the European site. That's probably why the shipping price dropped.
Has anybody come up with good alternatives to the Skyfall American Apparel Baby Thermal? I can't see myself paying almost $30 for a thermal, despite the really nice and unique color and stitching.... called a bunch of stores all over Los Angeles and nobody seems to have that color.
Does American Apparel have nice Black Friday sales?
Last but not least did anyone get the uniqlo linen shirts and try to remove the chest pocket? Otherwise I might risk it...
The pocket on the Uniqlo shirts are fairly large and are stitched tightly. I can't help but imagine that there would be a pattern left over if you removed the pocket. But, I could be wrong. I will say that the shirts are semi see through in the lighter colors. It's not extremely transparent, but skin tone can be made out under the shirt. So, depending on your nipple to skin tone ratio, you might want to reconsider yup, I went there. Just trying to keep it real. {:)

Then there is also a linen shirt which however looks too transparent for my taste:

Another option from Zalando (don't know if they ship internationally)

A Morocco Belt (?) from Lands End

"- That is something to be afraid of."
Some great finds there! The two linen shirts look good, but if you can order from Dillard's, this Murano one is going for 39,99 €
