Well I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't wear a suit to work, so even if I get 2 or 3 wears out of it this summer I'll be happy!:-)
I agree. Please let us know what you think when it arrives. Minus the lapels (and I prefer peaked anyway) it looks spot on!
I will indeed. I'll take some photos when I get it.
Can anyone tell me the right tie to wear with the O'Connor suit?
I would do a solid blue trying to match the color of the plaid pattern. I believe that's what DC wore in the movie. Although it seems fashionable to mix patterns, I would only do a solid tie with a bolder pattern.
I ended up doing the badgery belts queenslander from Amazon. I liked the belt. Just overshot the length and bought a 42". Then went back and bought a 38" I'm a 32" pant.
I was in Target last week and they had some really nice Harrington jackets by Merona on sale for $29.
They come in two colors, vintage khaki and xavier navy. I bought a navy one and personally think it makes for a nice budget alternative to the QoS Harrington.
For those who don't have a Target near them, you can order one on their site. Though, they are $39.99 but that's still a great deal IMO.

Got my new boots today they are from ALDO ,and they are called AKHAVAN, did try to get some J CREW Kentons ,but like the OTR
almost impossible to get ,but any how at £48.00 in the sale ,cant go wrong, saved myself a cool £200 ,(that's the price for a tyre on my X3 ) so I have the look (ish) but more to the point I have that feel .Now as a word of warning ,I take a size 10 in all my C&J ,Russle and Bromley ,Sebago ,Addidas, ect ect ,but I had to get an 11 in these?. now what laces do I put in ,im going to talk to the local cobbler ,if he can put in the fast tag eyelets ,as the suede is only punched through and dosent have an eye
I've tried this on and you need to size UP one size. But it is a very nice jacket (super soft leather) and even though it has those bellows pockets, the fit and styling give it a real Menlo feel.
The jacket color is much darker in person than it looks online (here is my pic of it in-store)
The fabric looks coarse, but it is actually very soft. NOTE: go up 2 sizes in this one; I can normally get away with a 38/39R in most traditional cut blazers and a 40R in MD blazers or other slim fits, and I needed a 42 for the shoulders and sleeves in this one. Would be a great alternative for slimmer guys.
Go ahead canoe 2 ,you are more than welcome ,I wouldn't know how to do it myself ,so I will leave it to you ,
(look forward to seeing your posting) cheers mate .
This shoe in cigar suede was mentioned way back as an alternative to the Church Ryders, but in black leather it's a reasonable stand-in for the C&J Tetbury, down to the Dainite studded sole.
River Island black suede bomber jacket. Alternative to JV?
I would advise it to be shortened to get a SA look. As it's designed to be quite long, going down to mid crotch.
Also, shortening may get rid of the banned bottom.
If I were you and I had the cash, I would grab a pair of those boots (if you need them and they fit your foot). I'm not kidding when I say that suede boots with brick red soles are getting reeaally hard to find!

Yeah. I am planning on buying them. Just got a few larger bond items I need to sort out. :007)
Just to give folks some light weekend readying, the review of the Badgery Belts affordable alternative for the R.M. Williams plaited leather belt is up!

Great review. You're making the belt sound very tempting.
Regarding RM Williams, they've already raised the prices of their boots at the beginning of the year. Styleforum has not been saying very kind things about that.

(Post image wasn't working)
Didn't get it though as I don't think that I can justify another Harrington in my wardrobe
Do you mind if I use those in the Harrington alternatives post? With credit to you, of course.

Yeah, very cool. Pretty much the same as the M&S, just the target jackets have banded cuffs.
Yes! I was about to post that.
These jackets do have elasticized cuffs, which the QoS jacket didn't have. Still a good looking jacket, though.

In other sale news: Massimo Dutti has a big 40%-50% off sale going right now, and a couple of the alternatives I listed are included:

Also, the linen blazer is down to $125

A DC/GWtDT-esque light grey cardigan for $39.90

And a Connery GF V-neck golf scene sweater for $39.90 (has elbow patches but you should be able to get those off)

Again, I suggest you size up in the sweaters 1 or 2 sizes depending on how you like to wear them.
Hope it helps!

I couldn't find them on the River Island website. Do you mind sharing what store you were in?
I was Ealing Broadway Shopping centre, UK. I see if I can find them online...
Also, they had a full run of sizes in store.
