That Rusty Ryan Ocean's 13 outfit has always been one of my favourites - and imho beats most of DC's Bond outfits with the exception of those in QoS, which (again only Imho) features his best Bond wardrobe.
Now canoe 2 if you could do a BudgetBrad thread for that outfit alone... ) -{
armenianmovieman: as James Brosnan said, great eye and nice catch! To both you and Charmed & Dangerous, I am looking at the Ocean movies for some upcoming articles (just to mix it up). Honestly, I was going to start with some of the Danny looks. But if folks like Rusty, I'll give it a shot (unless someone else wants to try his hand at it?). I always remember Clooney's line about "Ted Nugent wanting his shirt back" at the end of the first film )
Chriscoop: thanks for sharing that! Now that the Le Chateau one is sold out, I've been looking for the next great alternative for the TF cardigan. It's like my white whale
But I think I found one. A very old (and long out of stock) option is back for $60; it's the current Best Option in the post.
New options (and a reworking) of the post on alternatives for the grey Prada cardigan Craig wore for the 2011 Esquire UK article. I still really like that look (I'll post a pic of my interpretation in the next couple of days).
I added the Massimo Dutti option to the post for the CR Armani jacket. I shared this one on here a while ago, but I just saw it on the MD website last week.
Coming up: a new post from James Brosnan (Roger Moore fans celebrate -{ -{ !)
And I've got a bit of shawl collar cardigan bug right now that I need to get it out of my system. So I have a new post coming on those. Plus a Bond under $50 and a new 4 ways to wear it.
I completed this ages ago, but only got around to taking a photo now. This is my Budget version of the Harrington outfit from Quantum of Solace. Harrington is from Onfire (thanks canoe2!), navy polo and jeans from Primark and the boots are from Topman.
Also I have set up an instagram to have a gallery of my budget Bond outfits imaginatively called mybudgetbond If anyone is on instagram please give me a follow:-)

Fantastic.... Retro footwear which just happens to be very hipster at the mo! -{
Thanks Chriscoop. Writing primarily about older Bond outfits, I feel like my posts are more "ideas" posts that bring some classic Bond styles back to people's attention. While I provide some options, there are so many more options that are available; so, I always encourage people to submit their favorite finds for these classic styles so I can add them to the posts (much like Uncle did with his awesome find for the DAD floral shirt). Glad to hear you liked it. -{
CB0012: nice find! I'll add it to the post with credit to you when I update.
Jacob Mortensen: also a nice find! Shame about the logo on the pocket.
I'll be posting a new "standard" style post later today. But a couple of fun things happened this week. First, the site passed 100,000 views, which is sorta cool. Second, we are now at 100 posts. So for the 100th post, I just wanted send a more personal message to all of you here. Thanks and all the best!
Cheers to the 100th post and cheers to your efforts canoe2! I've bought countless items from your posts. I've also had the pleasure of working with you on my posts and have learned so much from writing them and, hopefully, have shared some useful information with the community (something I've been wanting to do for a long time now, which you made possible). Your site is really something man. It has literally become synonymous with the forefather sites of this community: The Suits of James Bond, The Bond Experience and The James Bond Lifestyle. You filled in the gap and created the ultimate frugal Bond site. {[]
Congratulations! Great work and an excellent resource. I'm sure it has helped countless people improve their sartorial style. Keep it up, your work is appreciated. :007)
Congrats on 100 posts! Fantastic website, which has given me so many new clothes to the delight of my wife and the despair of my bank manager:-). Here's to the next 100!
Congratulations! And once more I'm flattered to be mentioned by name. It's true I put forward the idea, but as with many things what matters is the execution (not the one that involves a guillotine). I would never have commited myself to put in the necessary time and diligence to create a project quite like yours. And since "Bond will return" here's to the next 100 posts -{
"I'm afraid I'm a complicated woman. "
"- That is something to be afraid of."
Okay, back to work. New post: Took a break from Bond and capitalized on my search for the black cardigan. Found some nice options for the Steve McQueen blue cardigan:
This probably should be its own post, but seeing the various items people look for and want in Bond films (particularly Spectre) reminds me of Rusty Ryan's (Brad Pitt) style in Ocean's 13, which has been making the rounds on HBO over the summer.
I noticed a few things about Brad Pitt that remind me of Spectre, both of which are in this pic: :007) :007)
Spoiler alert: the Morocco Blazer (albeit Rusty's is a few shades off, give or take) and Brunello duffel bag.
BAMFStyle has a bunch of articles on Rusty Ryan's style throughout the trilogy which are fun to read.
In canoe2's (and everyone else's) quest to find good alternatives to 50 years of Bond, this shot of Damon, Clooney, and Pitt (at least to me) perfectly summarizes the last 20 years of Bond's suit evolution, from Pierce through Craig: Damon has Brosnan's Istanbul and Havana suits down, Clooney has the early classical Craig era suits, and finally Pitt is wearing the more colorful\less traditional colors from SF and SP: gray suit, Morocco blazer, Istanbul suit, etc.
I guess the budget alternative takeaway here could be, the Brunello outfit, combined with some white dress pants, can be an interesting outfit as well for those who want to try something new: the Rusty Ryan look, you can say.
They're $16.50 at Kohls, in case anyone is interested.
Thanks for posting this. I have always been a fan of the Rusty Ryan style. I got Baron Boutique to make a Quantum of Solace suit using their Oceans 11 fabric and its an amazing suit. A really light smokey blue/grey. Looks fabulous with blue ties and white or blue shirts.
Another completed outfit - the Casino Royale balcony outfit.
I used the Vicenzo Boretti cardigan (which also doubles as my Quantum cardigan) as recommended by canoe2, and a Primark tshirt and trousers, with a Sekonda watch. Very happy with how this one came together...and it is super comfortable:-) (Feel free to add to gallery canoe2 btw)

This is slowly becoming one of my favorite lesser talked about Craig outfits. You rocked it man! I think he wears black leather chukkas in the scene. I'm wondering what shoes you like with the out? Also, love the Instagram account. -{

This was one of my first complete outfits, it's a good one, and good job angelicbond, I wear a pair of black lucini suede chukkas or my black leather chukkas, this has become a favoured cool weather leisure outfit for me and a hotel breakfast outfit.

Thanks for the shoe recommendations. And, thanks for adding how you wear this outfit. "Hotel breakfast outfit", sounds like the coolest thing I've ever heard. The outfit does seem very casual, so I wasn't sure if it's completely appropriate to wear around town. If anybody has any thoughts, as I'm not very good at that sort of thing, when it comes to cold weather wear.
Thought I'd mention this jacket. It's black leather rather than navy suede but has a very similar minimalist look to the Spectre Varvatos jacket. Being leather it it likely to be far more practical too:
Maybe not exactly a budget jacket but cheaper than tracking down a genuine Varvatos I don't yet own this jacket but I've bought a jacket from Soul revolver before and their service and quality is great.
Great find & very good price! Hope they're comfy? Are these true to size? What is the width fitting like on them? Interested in a pair, but I'm a fussy sod when it comes to buying shoes without trying them on first!

Larger sizes on the H&M Brunello alternate blazer are selling out, and this is another new blazer that is an online exclusive....
Definitely a bit lighter and I still am unable to get a good idea on the color of the actual Brunello so all opinions are welcome!
P.S. Can also be a potential Rusty Ryan budget blazer!
