Having a bit of clear out and I have a new unworn timefactors nato in Spectre colours, 22mm width with brushed bead blasted buckle/keepers. Bought it for my planet ocean but as I have the same colour strap on an SM300 I used a connery colour nato o. The po. Anyone interested in this good quality nato it's a great budget alternative to the omega for £10 shipped.

Yes could I also get some Trans-Atlantic help with the H&M Linen Blazer? I live in Charlotte and have limited funds so when deals like this arise I have to jump. Would pay all the fees I just need a UK address to have it ordered to, then mailed to me in North Carolina. Would be greatly appreciated!

Anybody heard of a Spanish company called Lopez Aragon? They have what looks like a really good alternative for the BC Chinos for 69 Euros:

    They have Euro sizes 45, 46, 47 in stock (I think that's like a 33, 34, 35 in U.S. sizing).

In honour of Global James Bond day here is my budget version of the Morocco desert outfit ( which seems to be a perennial favourite here :-))

Jacket from H&M, shirt and tie from M&S with trousers and shoes from Primark.

    Amazing, well done.

Question: if you could choose any Bond suit, which one would it be?

All QoS suits were amazing. The midnight blue one and the brown one are my all time favorites. Skyfall Grey PTS was awesome too, but in a QoS cut. I could use those 3 suits with other Bond ties, shoes, shirts, etc. and make any other Bond suit that I liked from all eras. Big fan of the novel Bond suits. Especially in TB where he wore sandals.

Oh, and Skyfall dinner suit and GF white dinner jacket and I'm set.

Anyone here ever fitted a 22mm Nato onto 20mm lugs?
I am interested in this but need to know if it will fit...

Where did we land on the best option for altaussee beanie/knit hat? I like that a lot of the budget times brought up are... Quality items in their own right. Just less money. So, not necessarily an $8 hat from target. But something similar with its own qualities.
Speaking of, I ordered the donegal merino sweater from the Irish store. As the Thomas crown alternative. I'll let you know how that is when it arrives!

I have done so with a cheap Nato strap (forgotten from where) on an Invicta watch. The strap bends ever so slightly (quite literally it is 1 mm "too much" on each side) where it is fitted to the watch but hardly noticeable and there is no space / sliding around which I like.

And what a shame to have missed that H&M Linen blazer for that price. Hesitated for mere hours whether it was worth ordering from a UK branch of a locally available store. But all gone now whereas German H&M hasn't even put it on sale yet. :#

So I've got a pair of those Lopez Aragon trousers coming. I'll let you know how they are, but it'll take about a month to get them to where I am. 8-)

goneontheroad: I've got a hat and scarf post coming up in about 2 weeks .... Looking forward to hearing your feedback on that sweater! I'm lucky; my mommy makes mine ;%

For suit's it sounds like the QoS fit/style is the one most like (in general). But everyone likes different fabric. More opinions?
  • MFisherMFisher Posts: 748MI6 Agent
Damn... so I did not check out the available sizes on those Lopez trousers.. I was set to order when I got home tonight.. but they only have two large waist sizes available.... :# bummer... Really liked those !

I spoke to the owner. They do made to measure (probably at full price) and he still has the fabric. He seems like a nice guy if you want to send him a message. Tell him you are from this forum. I shared the link to this thread to show him a couple of reactions to his work.

I tried on the H&M wool-blend bomber and...it's not bad. It looks better without the shearling collar. The silhouette however is much slimmer than the Dior. That's not a good thing if you're going for a SA look. But it's flattering for those who could lose a few pounds.

Hey guys. If you haven't already, you should read Matt's excellent article on Frank Foster, who just passed away. The man was truly an artist ....

    http://www.bondsuits.com/frank-foster-1923-2016/

I know we focus on the affordable stuff in this thread, but I think it's important we remember and give credit to those talented designers that create the original looks that inspire us in the first place.

Hear hear, also matt does excellent work, between his blog, iconic alternatives and this thread everyone can achieve a great wardrobe whichever way you decide to go, I pretty much mix up alternatives with sa pieces.

It's called "retro" and all the cool kids are doing it. B-)

Honestly, I often wonder myself when James Brosnan tells me his ideas. :s

And then I see the pics of the way he's personally updated the looks and I start wishing I was cool enough to wear them! :)) I just have faith in him now ....

Another quick note, almost forgot! Nordstrom Rack has the Rag & Bone shawl collar sweater on sale for $130 (regular price is $290). Sizes small, medium, large in stock. This isn't a rib knit, but it isn't that aggressive waffle knit I've seen on some of the versions.

Not a bad morrocco alternative. And a good price. Still full price at some stores and available at Amazon UK and US with a decent size range.

Chris: I'm gonna get you in a pair of powder blue pants and a yellow shirt if it's the last thing I do. :))

canoe2: Sad to hear the news and glad we were able to get a post up for it. The man did ggreat work. Thanks for the compliments and for all the extra shirts you found. Your alternative hunting skills make me feel like an ameature. I sware I looked for yellow shirts for at least as long as I looked at DC's ass last night ;)

It's $10 on Costco's site for this Die Another Day Blue Floral Shirt alternate, and I'm fairly certain that nonmembers can shop at the site.
