So my shanghai pants came today and they're much too long (which is odd because it's just a 36 waist. The bottom of the pants is an odd jagged edge almost like they weren't cut to size or something.).
The website says the hem is unfinished hence the length and jagged edge. This is to allow you to get them finished to the exact length you need.

Ah okay, thanks for the explanation! I'm still going to return them though haha
Also can be a great Casino Royale Balcony outfit watch.
Also a stable mate of omega under the swatch group.
LOL you learn something new every day! Watches have never been my thing, until the NATO Strap in Spectre and the Casino Royale balcony outfit... then I went back and noticed how beautiful the Skyfall watches are.
But honestly I would never have known Tissot if Benji didn't wear it in Rogue Nation. ) -{
armenianmovieman: I have a Tissot and I love it. They're great value for the money. I actually thought of using that very one as the alternative in the last post, but went with a cheaper option.
Chriscoop: I'm keeping track of your finds and when I do the post updates I'll make sure you get the credit! {[]
In no way would I describe these as "budget" but they could be a good match for the J.Crew Kentons, except for the strip of leather down the back. $280 Thorogoods, available at Milworks (saw them on Instagram)
About the Shanghai pants: so that option really is an "extreme slim" fit. I'll make a note of it in the post.
crt007: Got a Danner post planned and I'll make sure to add those with credit to you. Nice find!
Look forward to the Danner post, in the UK the nearest I found were karrimor stelvio, but black sold out ages ago there are some kickers which look similar but I wanted proper walking boots. Gone for some cheap Gelert items for the time being
Take a look for Vasque Sundowners in black. They're not an exact match for the Danners, but they have the same "spirit" and are an excellent light weight to mid-weight hiking boot.

They're quite similar to the Gelert I've just received today, I got them reduced all the way down to £27, leather and water proof.
I just bought this suit from eBay as my "London chasing Silva" outfit. I think it's quite a close match for £99. Would anyone have recommendations for the tie? Thanks!

A reasonable Danner alternative from Clarkes - I have last years model and they work well - good boots as well!

I'm really torn on the Tissot vs Seiko alternative. I love the Tissot and am leaning that way but on the other had the Seiko has the detail in the face that compliments the Aqua Terra nicely. Can anyone speak to the Seiko model? How does the Solar power hold up?
If anyone is looking for a nice alternative for the TF Morocco Polo, Gilt has a good one. It's from Dartmoor, 100% Cashmere, reg. $225 on sale for $89, and if you use the code COUNTDOWN you get an extra 40% off. So about $53. Sizes small to large in stock:

So I know that Sears clothing probably won't have the same quality as an actual clothing retailer, but for anybody who wants a free Danner alternate, Sears put their Die Hard boots on sale for $49.99, with Shop Your Way members getting 100% of their points back.
You get free shoes, but you have to spend $50 at Sears.... perhaps it'll be a nice idea to get a Keurig?
Also, Lands' End is having a sale right now. Armenianmovieman, they have a decent option for the Danners going for about $85. Use the code AWESOME50 and the PIN 7400
So after watching the new Bond experience video where David goes over the Brunello outfit, I honestly think that the Alfani pants are pretty much the closest thing we can get in the USA, as it seems we can't get Burton Menswear to ship to USA..... anybody have any pics or experience with a Brunello alternate?
Black Friday note: Kohls sells several variations of Dark Pebble Dockers, with 15% off this weekend + $15 Kohls cash per $50 spent. (These models shouldn't look too different from the pricier Alpha slim fit model, I assume.....)
My eyes and my brain are fried when it comes to these Brunello trousers so perhaps someone can assess these 2 options from Haggar: Toast and Dark Taupe.
Or you can just wait until later in December and get them for 30% off with free shipping, although I'm not sure if or by how many dollars the price will go up after Black Friday sales are over.
Also, can we agree that the H&M Morocco blazer and the Urban Outfitters cardigan are the closest to their respective looks?
P.S. If my Brunello trouser posts are annoying\useless\going nowhere, please tell me so I can stop. ) ) -{ -{
I think all the Dockers are just too dark. All the colors in that Morocco look are difficult to capture (just see Welshboy's pics and comments in the Bond Experience thread!).
Honestly, I think the best most of us can do is start with the BC jacket, in a color we think comes close and then look for trousers that are a shade or two lighter. Trying to buy the two separately, without really seeing how they will work together, just makes it harder.
Yes, I think the UO is the closest affordable option style-wise on the market for the TF cardigan. But it fits VERY big. So, points off for that. The good news is that the ribbed shawl collar cardigan seems to be coming back into style (just not in black - yet). So I expect more really good options will be showing up sooner rather than later.
As for the H&M blazer, I haven't seen it in person so I can't say for sure. But based on the product pics, then yes I think it comes very close in color to what we see on screen (although it may not be close to the BC in real-life). The herringbone texture is the only real thing that throws it off for me, but others have said it is more subtle IRL.
The H&M blazer and Banana Republic Kentfield are what I went with. Here is a comparison and a quick Fit pick to show the colors (my sleeves are artificially tucked as they are too long and need to get them tailored):
Obviously, still putting this outfit together, but I couldn't agree with Canoe2 more. It's all about getting the right ratio between the pants and the jacket. The BR Kentfields are about as spot on as it gets color wise, and the H&M is the closest I've ever seen to the SA color of the BC jacket. But, the H&M blazer seems a little darker, so there is some room to choose the pants accordingly. The jacket is fantastic and is a slim fit. It's lined unfortunately, but seeing as I need to get the sleeves done, I may see about unlining it. Never unlined a jacket before. If anyone has any advice, that would be greatly appreciated. -{
