My budget shanghai outfit got some use today at my family's church. Apt 9 alternative shark skin trousers, M&S Black V neck sweater, and my current winter coat is the Oneill Mariner coat. Probably too small to see but I've got the Invicta Pro Diving Watch (Rolex Submariner Alternative) with a black and silver NATO strap. Love this watch to death!!! -{
Alternative to the C&J Camberley. No cap toe and leather rather than Dainite soles. But Herring customer service is superb and their own brand shoes are usually made by companies such as Loake and Barker.

As requested, sp London outfit with the best IA option for the Neil Barretts.
For some reason the jacket has photographed far more blue than it is? And the trousers a couple of shades lighter than they are, the sweater is about right..... Go figure?

That's the zara jacket from a couple of seasons ago.
And aside from the Selfridges sale Portent mentioned, Herring Shoes big sale has just started! I took a quick look through and there are some great prices!
Thrifted Banana Republic Cardigan came today! $28, 100% Merino Wool, very soft, great fit, just some slight pilling (about what you'd expect after 1 wash; nothing a quick shave won't fix). Overall condition is very, very good, almost excellent.
Okay, this one is for Chriscoop!
With the arrival of the BR, my cardigan collection GROWS!!!! B-)
Top left: Banana Republic
Bottom left: Perry Ellis ($22 on sale); 60% cotton/40% acrylic
Top right: my 7 year old Zara
Bottom right: Urban Outfitters (about $25 on sale)

Your obsessed canoe2, I'm very happy with my Ben Sherman item, just need to swap the buttons at some point.
Most SA? Probably the Urban Outfitters one. It's a true ribbed knit, it has the pockets, and the contrasting knit on the collar. But the fit is big, the gauge of the ribbing is a little heavy and I just don't think the quality is there. It's hard to complain about a sweater that only cost about $25, but I've had it less than a month and it's already pilling.
What one do I like best? Honestly, I still feel a little sentimental for the Zara. I've had it almost 8 years and it's held up great. But it's just getting a little too ratty now.
The Perry Ellis feels very nice for a cotton/poly blend, very soft. It's not the most SA, but folks could do a lot worse for $25.
So, even though I've had it less than a day, I have to say the BR is already my favorite. It isn't a true ribbed knit (but it the knit they used almost gives that effect) and the detail on the collar is missing. But $28 for a beautifully soft 100% merino wool that fits great and is in almost excellent condition? It gets my vote.
drum007: I'll add it to the next update on the site, with credit to you. Nice find!
armenianmovieman: it was during one of their sales in late October (I think it was 50% off, so it was like $35). I signed up for an email promo they were doing, and that gave me an extra 15% off (discount automatically applied when I clicked the link in the email). Then I called customer service to make sure I was ordering the right size. Turns out he is also a Bond fan and decided to buy one of the cardigans for himself while we were talking. So he gave me an extra 15% off (true story!). It was actually somewhere around $23 in the end.

I fear your cardigan collection will reach such heights that it would have been cheaper to just buy the tf!
I have a question about the Church’s Ryder III Chukka alternatives. I'm comparing two and finding the decision difficult so I thought I'd ask around. Has anyone bought either (or both) of these alternatives and how are they? How's the sizing, longevity etc - I plan on putting them to work on a regular basis so they'd need to be able to handle a street beating. Is the Herring Shoes Canterbury slightly more SA?
They are matched for price at £125, both sourced from canoe2's superb IA encyclopedia:
I wonder if there's a friendly Brit (or UK resident) willing to forward me a pair of the Next linen trousers? Like H&M, they won't ship to me because they have a German website, albeit with mostly different products and no sale.
Edit: Naturally I'd cover all costs and be eternally grateful. Details best by PM!
"I'm afraid I'm a complicated woman. "
"- That is something to be afraid of."
They have more of a classic look and the choices seem to be either too brown or too green in colour but for the extremely budget conscious £29 can't really be beat.
Honestly I just bought the Brown waxed Barker jacket not even as a Barbour alternative. I just think it looks totally classic and I could easily see Bond wearing it. Heck if Bond won't I still would haha.

Not an exact match but I feel they catch the overall look of the screen used ones. Bought them and very happy with them.
I was at a wedding yesterday. Took some inspiration from the Morocco look.
