Just purchased a Skyfall PTI jacket alternative from H&M:
Compared to JSC version:
It is obviously missing the "SIS" crest and the chest pocket. But it fits slim and has a thin fleece lining, so very comfortable. Looks very much the part when tried on, so decided to just get it as Join Service Clothing has been a bit dicey in terms of reputation of late.
Does a iron on "SIS" patch exist? If so would love to complete this jacket with that.
Love it man. Especially the Brosnan one. I always wear a peacoat with that Broz outfit as it is a great outfit for really cold mornings and nights with days that only need the sweater. Also, like you said, you can take any layer off and always look good in that outfit, so it looks good around the office without the sweater too! A topcoat would be my preferred layering choice. -{
Great post canoe2. By chance I actually wore something very similar to option number two yesterday! I do go out a lot of the time in SA looks, but as you rightly point out that would leave a very limited wardrobe. I really enjoy mixing up and your posts give me some good ideas.
Kenton option?
A pretty cool boot in itself. Handmade in Italy.
Looks like a great find man! Also, looks like a great color match to the originals, with it looking just a little bit darker:
Personally, I don't mind the detail differences at all, it's more about color with these boots for me because of how the boot color pairs with the taupe pants and the color of the jacket. Of course, depending on which alternative/SA pieces one is pairing the boots with, lighter or darker color boots may go better, but darker definately goes better if you have the Matchless jacket or a jacket that is close to the true color of the Matchless. -{
Funny story/very happy coincidence. Yesterday morning I was finishing up this post and decided to take a short break. I headed over to a thrift store that's close to my house and what's the first thing I see when I walk in the door?
Vintage, late 1970s/early 80s Red Wing Irish Setters for $7.
They're not the 877s with the white rubber sole. But they have recently been professionally resoled with Virbram outsoles. And the uppers are in amazing condition. Best part is they fit me perfectly!
JamesBond: You may have better luck posting the tie sale in a separate dedicated thread. Just a suggestion.
How's the start of the week everyone? I'm asking for a favor. One of the readers at IA wrote me asking if I could do a post on how a bigger guy can dress like Bond. He's 6'4" and 340 lbs (powerlifter). I am not 6'4" or a power lifter. So my experience in this area is pretty limited.
I know some of you guys are on the large size. MrIceGuy, Welshboy, Chriscoop, and others. Can any of you help? All I would need is 3 to 5 tips based on your experience. Bullet point is fine. I'll put together the article from whatever you send and (of course) give credit to the contributors.
Please PM me here if you're interested!
Also, if anyone here ages 18 to 25 is interested in helping out with another article, could you PM me?
I'm 6'3'' but far from 340 lbs so I don''t I'd be of much help. The only advise I can give is in regard to buying suits. Try to find a place where you can buy separates, so trousers and jackets in different sizes.
You can create your own thread just for selling your item(s). Everyone will then see the thread title, and those interested in purchasing will look through, post or PM. Hope that helps. -{
A while back I posted a few alternative Bond shoes from Cheaney (post 1845). I've had my two pairs for a little over a month now and I am very happy with them. They are very comfortable, well made and they look better with every polish.

This is kind of the slow season everywhere. Hard to do alternative posts but it's a fun time to get creative.

Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
Hi. Here's the link
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014RF4OAA/
They do the same pattern in some other colors that look like they could be a good match for a couple of other ties
Thanks c2!
