Chriscoops options are good. Go to IA and search "belts". There's a $50 from Nordstrom that looks like a good match. What you're looking for is a Saffiano leather belt.

Looking to complete more of my Skyfall collection, I've had my eyes on the Barbour Beacon for awhile. I almost pulled the trigger during End Clothing's winter sale at US $375 but one reason has held me back. That damn plastic liner to prevent interior wax leakage is reported by many here to cause excess sweating. I am a super heavy sweater and I tend to heat up in fabrics that don't breathe at all. I want to stay as close to the Lodge jacket look as possible so the the alternatives I've considered are the Barbour Stanley, Barbour Lutz, and the Barbour x Land Rover Boneyard jacket. I just found the latter one online yesterday and while it does have some accents different than the x Tokito/Commander/Beacon, I'm starting to think I prefer it over the original. Does anyone have any experience with this Land Rover version or experience with the other Barbour models I listed?

The Boneyard jacket is on sale at Land Rover's site: https://shop.landrover.com/uk/men-s-barbour-driver-wax-jacket-51bbjm011

Wow! Jacket looks very similar to the Beacon! Good find. The jacket seems to be waxed as well, so it may too have the lining. Wasn't sure if you had read reviews that describe it as more breathable. If it is more breathable and one is ok with the style variations, this is the perfect alternative. Not sure if you saw my review of the Barbour, but it may help with your decision making:

I read somewhere that the Lutz doesn't have the plastic membrane because it has thicker 8oz waxed cotton while the Beacon is 6oz. This Land Rover jacket is 8oz like the Lutz so I'm hoping for the best but will contact Barbour in the meantime. One other key difference I've noticed is that both the Lutz and Boneyard have a matte finish while the Beacon seems glossy in comparison.

Glad to hear you are checking into the lining issue Secret Squirrel. Let us know what you find because I'm sure the community would be very interested, as the lining issue probably stops many people from buying a Beacon. The Barbour Beacon Sports Jacet has a matte look, not a glossy one. Possibly pictures don't do it justice. An excerpt from my review:

"Barbour has labeled the type of waxed cotton for this jacket as Sylkoil. The Sylkoil technique is characterized by its less glossy, matte appearance due to the use of unshorn cotton straight from the loom."

    That's where my research lead me, and it is definately matte in person. So, could ask if the Lutz and Boneyard are Sylkoil as well. -{

I think I have found a decent QOS Harrington alternative with a slim fit. It's a little American-ized with chambray lining and cotton canvas material but it looks to be well made. Unfortunately, it has elastic waist and cuffs.

I received an email back today from Barbour. The Boneyard jacket doesn't have the plastic membrane in the body of the garment yet it does in the sleeves. I don't know if the Beacon has it in the body also but I imagine the body is what gets the most heat. As far as material, it is made of 8oz Oban waxed cotton. The size chart they sent me is identical to the Beacon so this is the closest alternative that you can get. Unfortunately Land Rover UK doesn't ship to US so I'll have to scour the internet to find one.

Looks like Persol has come out with a new pair of sunnies that looks devilishly like the 2672's worn in DAD; they are 3156s:

I have yet to try them, as they have a 63 width, and I have a narrow face, so they will probably not work well on me at all. But, if the DAD style is something you really want, this is as close as I've ever seen. If I see them in the store, I will try them on and do fit pics.

On a related note, I got my DAD alternatives in, which were suppose to be my GE alternatives, but they turned out to be much more sporty than I expected, due to the 18 height measurement. They are 52 width, so they suit my narrow face much better. Took the little guy to Disney this weekend and got the chance to wear them with my new and improved DAD, white line shirt outfit:

    IMG_0660.jpg

    IMG_0664.jpg

The pictures don't do the sportiness of these glasses justice, but they really capture the vibe of the originals for me, with style differences that better compliment my face shape (very important when picking sunglasses). The shirt and pants are Orlebar Brown Linen - :x :007)

Secret Squirrel: Gustin is doing some very interesting things. Their clothing in general gets solid reviews and the crowdsourced funding business model is getting more popular. Good find!

This week I'm moving the new classifieds area of the site into beta testing. I know that some of you here are currently trying to sell some pieces and others are in WTB mode. If any of you are interested in being part of the beta test, could you please PM me here? I will send you the info you need to create your account and post your ad.

    Thanks!

Was there an alternative listed previously for the Spectre apartment couch?
Just today, my offer was accepted on my..second home. First by myself. And I realize I own...nothing. I love the spectre combo of the leather barrel chair, couch and coffee table and would love to do the same. I though there was some talk of an alternative for the couch but I can't seem to find it. If anyone has any recommendations for the others...it would be greatly appreciated.

Perfect! Thank you. I totally missed part II. Yea, I had a really nice farm. With a lady. When things went south with the lady... I got out. Put everything in storage. I've a lot of space to fill, now! Thanks guys. If I end up with any suggested pieces, I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks again.

I just won this on eBay as my Barbour alternative. It's a Taylor and Wright military jacket. Got it for £2 (!) so if it doesn't work in real life I haven't wasted too much money:-)

2(x)ist is slowly releasing items from their new summer line, and it seems that one of their swim trunks is a pretty darn good looking alternate for the Orlebar Brown shorts in Skyfall.

They should have sales within the next several weeks, in case $85 is too steep. And it may even pop up on Amazon.

(I don't know if they've always made swim trunks or not, but in the last year or so they've been making more and more casual clothing, which doesn't look bad at all. Their tartan henleys will be a holiday staple.)

Got this is Zara today. £40. Weirdly they also have a Midnight Blue version. I would have got that too but i ordered a Wested London suede jacket today. They also had slightly different versions which were 10 quid more. Not screen acurate but has nice details. Very light weight, synthetic but well happy personally.

Well, sometimes owning the budget alternative of something is the best. I had an unfortunate situation last night while enjoying some St. Patty's libations at my local pub. I had my Banana Republic Solden jacket hanging on a hook, left for 2 minutes to use the restroom, came back and somebody jacked it. :( Frustrated as I quickly grew to love it and have been wearing it all winter. I guess better to be out $80 verses thousands for the Tom Ford!

That's a dirty trick! But hey what do you expect in ny!? ( I'll refer you to Chulas posts in the film order thread) ?:)
I once had a lovely cashmere overcoat, called into my local bar for a couple, hung it up, when I left and put my hands in the pockets I found a couple of heavily used ashtrays worth of butter ends and ash in there. Wasn't best pleased.
