Hi,
Only discovered this site about a week ago and I don’t think I’ve spent a minute of my spare time off it since! I love it! Just wish I’d found it sooner, before a lot of the alternatives were sold out!
Anyway, I needed a new suit, so when searching for an Istanbul alternative, I came across the Aston & Gunn Oxenhope Sharkskin suit is half price at House of Fraser! £100 for 2 piece, most sizes left!
I’m not sure if today is last day of sale, so might need to be quick!
I ordered a couple of these and am very happy with the quality. If anyone is thinking of purchasing, I’d definitely consider sizing up as they are a tight, tight fit! I’m normally a medium/40 UK in everything. The black one was OK (but skintight), the blue came up toooo tight so re-ordered large. Fits perfectly, no excess at all, and the arm length is better.
I managed to grab quite a few things and also found the code “extra15” works too (15% extra off)
I actually managed to get a Blue Riviera for £34 before they also realised they reduced it too much and put it back up in price, shame I didn’t order more but had never bought one before.
Anyway hope the code is useful to people (if not already posted)
Ebay brand Dissident - £20. Got it last year as a black counterpoint to the dark navy Massimo Dutti one I got to be screen accurate (budget-wise at least). The Dissident one is nylon front and back so is quite toasty without a another layer on top. Cotton knit selves are good to.
I found an alternate at Banana Republic. Light gray Aiden model. Slight stretch to them and slim cut. Very light gray, not white. I am pleased with them. Regularly around $90, sale price $45.
Bond: "But who would want to kill me, sir?"
M: "Jealous husbands, outraged chefs, humiliated tailors . . . the list is endless."

Are you referring to an alternate for the Brunello desert chinos in Spectre?
For me the only drawback to those pants is the Banana Republic logo sticking out.... has anyone ever managed to remove these successfully??
Target also seems to have a decent alternative to the desert pants....
Yes, the label removal is no problem. In fact I always remove these on all their pants. I won't advertise for a company for free. The BR labels are just small rectangles above the rear pocket. A razor blade or sharp knife will easily cut the stitching, just do it carefully.

For anyone else in the label removing mood, these seem decent too; I think someone already mentioned them but I'm not sure....
Not exactly budget, this is off season and it's not a cooper collar or has a front pocket but I spotted a very good alternative to Brosnan's long white linen shirt in Die Another Day. It's from a brand called "Caruso".
For what's available at the market, you'd have to go bespoke to get an accurate shirt.

Hello gentlemen! I'm alive! No thanks to the last half of 2017!
I won't bore you with the details of where I've been. I'll just say events in the last 4 months have involved doctors (for me), lawyers and banks (for my mother's estate), a little bit of fun travel and some not so fun travel. All in all, I'm was not sorry to see the ass-end of last year head out the door.
How have you guys been? I've been following along when I can and I hope all of you had a great holiday season and start to the new year!
On to the site. Updates have been loooooong overdue. And I've been busy these last couple of weeks getting things back up to speed. We have new updates for:
I also have updates scheduled for this week for the TF QoS cardigan (of course ), the Prada Esquire Grey cardigan, the McQueen blue cardigan, a couple of the N.Peal sweaters, and few others.
For new content, I have articles coming over this next week on alternatives for that BC navy cashmere jacket, the Canada Goose Lodge Hoody. Lots more to come!
There's also a contest coming up! My sincere apologies for not being able to do the Reader Appreciation contest last year. Please believe me that I tried to get it organized, but with everything that was going on, I just couldn't make it work.
Anyway, it's great to back and I look forward to catching up with everyone!
Hallelujah {[] {[] {[] welcome back Canoe 2!!
Now all we need is bond 25 to begin shooting, some spy shots and some budget bond items to run down.

Thanks Chris! And I forgot you recommended that Reiss! I've fixed that in the post to give you credit
Catching up on the forum, it looks like the post I really need to update is the one on Bond shaving! Everyone seems obsessed with soap and razors since David got his birthday gift )

You're back!! I was really getting worried mate, I definitely missed your presence and all your useful budget posts here. Anyway I hope all of those trouble have been sorted for the best and I can't wait to see what you have in store for IA -{

I looked everywhere, but in the end I went with the Magnoli replica, which is excellent.

Yes the cap toe is wrong, and the material is wool and not suede but a decent looking boot nonetheless:

I found a nice J Crew alternative to the cardi, now that you mention it.
Maybe I'll dig it up.
